ส้มตำ (Somtam) often known as Thai spicy salad, is mainly made with raw papaya. It has a spicy, sour, salty, and/or sweet taste and comes in a variety of versions and names, depending on the toppings added to the dish.

ตำกุ้งสด : Spicy papaya salad with fresh shrimp and often seasoned with fermented fish sauce (ปลาร้า)
ตำซั่ว : Spicy fermented rice noodle salad with toppings of your choice such as fresh flower crab, as seen in below dish, and as usual, seasoned with fermented fish sauce
Other popular main dishes in Somtam restaurant or food stall/kiosk are grilled fishes, grilled pork intestine, grilled chicken, spicy mixed mushroom soup, and most importantly, a warm & soft stcky rice~
