3. What I Love About Being a Local Guide: I love travel and photography. Whenever I travel I love to take pictures of just about anything which previously were not so useful for me except as personal keepsake. Upon becoming a local guide, I found a new purpose for all the photos I took in all my travels - sharing it with the google community and being a contributing factor to whatever decision they may arrive at.
4. What I Love to Explore: I love nature and anything of beauty (including man-made attractions). I love to visit the well-known attractions but the rebellious side of me always make me explore an off-beat path as much as possible in the places I visit.
5. Fun Fact About Me: I am both a conformist and a rebel. I don’t always go with the crowd, hence, my inclination to sometimes take the road less travelled.
Hi Everyone, I think I am a bit of an unusual fit here, you might wonder why?

Location: Melbourne, Australia but originally from Sri Lanka, but kind of a foot in both places.
What I love about being a Local Guide: I have always been active, be part of happenings around me, and take great pleasure in sharing information and knowledge and contributing to the community in whatever way I can. Being a Local Guide gives me a clear opportunity to satisfy this innate desire of mine. See, as an example, I am contributing by being the Administrator of Junior Cricket Program the local cricket club (volunteer)- that is fun too.
My Favourite things to explore: Although I love being part of what is happening around me – be it new shopping options, or events in my locality, my focus is very much on travel around the world. Being retired and with time on my hands, we do quite a bit of travel. I do not just focus on certain aspects of new places, but what excites me is getting that overall understanding of the places and the people, getting a feel of the culture, their history and so on. So I tend to explore a variety of things when I am in a new place.
Fun Facts about me: See, unlike most of you I am getting on in years (I really don’t want to shock you right now by giving it out !!), so I can no longer do physically demanding exciting things. But I am generally tech savvy and greatly enjoy my one and only computer game, MS Flight Simulator. And that led to some real life flight lessons – great fun even at my age. My secret passion. And also a bit of golf.
The reason for me to be proud as a local guide is that i love travelling to different places. I have been travelling to different places in India since my childhood. I have visited different places from south india to north india. Local guide platform gives me an opportunity to contribute and help billions of people about local information of the locations i visited before they plan to visit a place. A traveler in a new country also becomes familiar with the spots because of the Google Maps and by the contribution of Local Guides.
What I love about being a Local Guide: I love helping people to explore the places in detail with plenty of shared pictures with other local guides and people. Local Guides are like supporting arm in the digital age, rendering service happily and willingly by sharing knowledge about the places they visit, which ultimately benefit others when they plan their visit making it easy to locate and convenient to get around to act.
My favorite thing to explore: Nature is limitless, and I’m on my way to explore it to its core. Nature offers an orchestra of sounds and visuals, you will spot a variety of butterflies, birds, dozens of shades of green, fresh air, early sun shine, step out and walk in park or garden you will fall in love with the nature.
Fun Fact about me: I would like to see myself in 40000 styles, and I could complete over 10000 till now. I love to experiment on self to learn and share the experiences with others it could be handling stress, living healthy life and more… Come connect and explore more…

What I love about being a Local Guide: Local Guides community gives me a Lot of friends and different cultures and traditions to explore. I can also share my moments and Hidden Gems to the world.I also care about spreading quality Local Guides and mapping policy.
My favorite thing to explore: My favorite things to explore are Archeological sites, Parks and traveling one side to another. During my traveling, I care about checking Accessibility status, kids friendly zones and Toilet facilities for all.
Fun Fact about me: I am a mobile photographer and try to capture my whole travel scenes with my phone. I have a 360 cam but I must capture a 360 photo with my phone wherever I go. It’s my pleasure and I discovered myself differently that time from others when I continue my 360 shooting. This is what a Local guide is.

What I love about being a Local Guide: I like sharing my knowledge about places with other people to help them learn about new places. Many times I have people tell me that they did not know the facts I shared with them about places where they may have lived for long. I call it making the world better known, one place at a time, by being a Google Local Guide.
My favorite thing to explore: I am a museum buff and can spend hours at such places. I like to see everything in a museum and also read what’s written about the displays but this is always not possible. Musueums are now going minimalistic and helping visitors absorb lesser information that is kept more simple.
Fun Fact about me: I like to use quirky titles to my posts so that they draw attention of readers. So, I may use word play or puns to hear highlight my point. Getting people to read anything is a challenge in this day of low attention span. So making your post titles sensational or thought provoking is one way to bring readers to your post.
