Many of my reviews are visible only for me

Since posting so many photos is prohibited, what is the maximum I can post without falling under the AI filter? So in the next reviews I will limit it to this maximum amount.

Hi @henriquemps , and sorry for the late reply.

You can easily reply in your own language. In Connect, at the end of each comment there is a small globe, which is used to activate automatic translation into our language.
In addition, being Italian, I will understand most of what you write.

Before going into the details of your questions, I think I need to clarify a few things. Every platform that hosts Users Generated Contents has rules. Rules that we confirm we have read, and accept, in order to register. Unfortunately, it often happens that those who register have not “really” read the rules, and consequently violate them without being aware of it.
In these almost 8 years as a Moderator, I have read the phrase “I have not violated any rules” countless times. Many of those who wrote it are no longer Local Guides. As a moderator, my goal is not to have Local Guides removed. On the contrary, my goal in pointing out errors is to make people understand the rules, so that those who have made mistakes can correct them. In this way, they will contribute better to Google Maps, and we will all benefit from this.

In Google Maps Eiffel Tower is an historical landmark, located in the city of Paris, France
Of course, since it is a very popular place, many users will post photos there, and they have every right to do so. This is very different from a single user posting many similar photos.

According to https://support.google.com/contributionpolicy/answer/7400114:We do not allow the posting of repetitive content on Google Maps because it dilutes useful information Google Maps provides its users.

In this conversation there are more Local Guides, and I took examples from the contributions of both, to explain the potential violations. In doing so I imagined that each one was able to recognize their own content. I confirm that I did not find images taken from the web in your images.

In fact in the title I wrote: Duplicate Across Locations
This is one of the most common mistakes, clearly prohibited by the Local Guides community policy: “Users who duplicate photos across locations … will be removed from the program
There have been extreme violations, such as the door of a building that houses 20 different businesses posted 20 times, or the entrance of a Mall posted in all the stores in the Mall. This is such a common mistake, and one that leads to suspension from the program, that I wanted to dedicate a topic to it: Local Guides Tips: How to add “Located Within” in Google Maps

No, unfortunately this is not correct. The AI searches for prohibited content “inside” the image, but does not check if an image has been posted multiple times. I myself have had images of statues, taken inside a museum, blocked for “nudity”. I have raised this issue with Google since 2017, but unfortunately it has not been resolved yet.

As you can see I have already shown you several of them, and I have provided you with links to the pages where they are explained.

“A couple of months” = around 2 months

When a review is edited the date shown is that of the last edit. Since the appeal also has a date, everything that appears with a date more recent than the appeal will not be considered in the check.

These are the latest media you have uploaded. As you can see a video has been uploaded twice. I know that this often happens because Maps has suggested it to us, but in the end we are the ones who accept the suggestion. My advice is to often check what has been uploaded

Sorry for the long reply, but I hope this helped clear your doubts.

Thank you for the detailed explanations @ErmesT it will help many of us! One more comment regarding your last quote:
I realized, it is very likely to overlook duplicates and redundant, unless we regularly, carefully track and watch all uploaded media under My Contributions on the desktop. In my opinion, doing so on the mobile is not very helpful.
In addition Google over and over encourages us to upload the same media we already did before (this has been discussed many times before here on Connect). For me, the only “solution” is to ignore those suggestions completely and follow up my own tracking for what I did upload.

I know there are rules and I aceppted it. If you can clearly explain to me which rule I’m breaking, I’ll stop doing it right away. But I ask, why do my other comments appear and the comment about the diving school doesn’t? Did I only break the rules in the diving school review? How is it the same as the other comments?

I disagree. The diving school is not as popular as the Eiffel Tower, I agree with that, but Google can post several photos from different angles of the Eiffel Tower and I can’t of the diving school, so I disagree. But why doesn’t Google delete the photos it finds similar and show my review?

According to https://support.google.com/contributionpolicy/answer/7400114:We do not allow the posting of repetitive content on Google Maps because it dilutes useful information Google Maps provides its users.
So, Google has to delete the photos of the Eiffel Tower, because: According to https://support.google.com/contributionpolicy/answer/7400114: “*We do not allow the posting of repetitive content on Google Maps because it dilutes useful information Google Maps provides its users.

Perfect. All Photos I took by my smartphone.

Is the Itanhaém sign on Itanhaém beach or next to Anchieta Bed? I was there, it belongs to both places.

No, unfortunately this is not correct. The AI searches for prohibited content “inside” the image, but does not check if an image has been posted multiple times. It is a very complicated situation, mainly because the AI did not visit Itanhaém, and also did not go to the diving school.

As you can see I have already shown you several of them, and I have provided you with links to the pages where they are explained.
There is no violation, only photos of places that I really went. I can prove it, I have the pictures.

No problem, I will wait patiently.

So, if you want to really help me. Show me what I have to do for the diving school review to appear:

I don’t know how can it be possible, I recorded 1 vídeo and post 1 vídeo. I will delete one of those if I see duplicated. Done.

Hi @henriquemps , and sorry for the late reply.

I like your review, the only issue that I can find in there is the mention of the price, that can easily be misinterpreted by the filter. But I also see that you added 49 photos.
As a review is considered as a single block (text + attached media) if a single element of the review is filtered the whole contribution will be taken down.
A good practice, when writing a review, is to only attach a few media. If the review isn’t posted the first step is to remove the media, to see if the issue is with the text.
If without medias the review is published we can start to add more media, to discover if some of them is triggering the filter.
As every media will be checked to see if it’s against the rules, if you also add videos the publication may be delayed for hours, or even days, depending of the number of videos posted.

As you already appealed I suggest you to wait

No. The photos are posted by various users. What is not permitted is to post several similar photos for a single user

I did it already in my previous reply

Have a nice day, an please keep us informed when your review will be released

To my eyes, the price of the service is very important to anyone that wants to dive, I don’t know how google/gemini could think this is out of the rules. Anyway, I will listen you and remove the price right now. Thank you for the information.

But I also see that you added 49 photos.

I reduce the photos and videos to 22. In my point of view, The longer and more complete the review, the more information about the dive I include, the more photos and videos, the more complete it will be for those who are reading and thinking about diving or not. But it seems that Google doesn’t think so, right?

I already remove the media by half, look.

Withou anyone media, my review do not appear, belive to me. I try everything before start writing here in the forum.

My brain can not understand what is the difference. I can not post 2 photos of Eifell Tower, but I can post 1 photo and you 1 photo, of the same angle. Very strange to my brain.

I did it already in my previous reply
Have a nice day, an please keep us informed when your review will be released
All right, I will wait the 2 months, as you oriented me.
