Questions about Local Guides perks

Hey Guys

I am on Level 5 Local Guide from Europe. But I have never got any perks or Gifts or anything from Google maps. Why is that so? Whom can I contact about this issue?

Welcome back to Local Guides Connect.

Local guides program basically is for helping other people with our Contributions, but of course sometimes perks are available and it will vary from time to time and from region to region. It depends on who the Google partners are. There may also be special and/or early access to Google features. You can read more about it on the official support page Get Organized.

And I want to say that Local Guides is a voluntary program and many people participate in it because they want to be able to help others via the Google Maps platform. You can read more - “Why be a Local Guide?”

I get the logic behind it is helping others.

But, tripadvisor reward reviewers, yelp rewards reviewers. We’re giving reviews and taking pictures and collecting points that amount to nothing at all?

And, no, sorry the ‘google partners’ perks spiel doesnt work for me.

You expect me to believe that the UK hasnt had a perk offer since 2018?!

No, Google has stopped offering perks at all.

Even on google, it now states that the perk is that your reviews appear higher up in google searches? Sorry, but one of the worlds largest companies needs to start rewarding its reviewers or people are going to stop reviewing.

I know i wont be putting in any more time and effort until Google decide to start actually rewarding its reviewers.

All for nought?

Hi, @Veni1 , congratulations on reaching level 5. Your contributions as a local guide are really appreciated by Google Maps and by the Local Guides Community. When you contribute you are making Google Maps better for others and for yourself. Nevertheless, from time to time, Google Maps provide perks not as a “reward”, but to say thank you. Google can also offer you anticipated access from some features. You’ll increase your chances to get a perk by contributing regularly on Maps. But take in mind also that the perks can vary from region to region, depending on Google Maps partners.

Have never got email from them? I have received perks as soon as reached at Level 2.

Perks come and go all the time. Some are regional, some are worldwide.

I would like to remind you that Local Guides are freely participating in the program and Local Guides contribute because they want to be able to help others via the Google Maps platform.

Heres’s an idea, why doesnt someone list all the perks available in the UK in 2019?

Feel like this will more than prove my point.

Hi, i am a local guide of level 8.I got a mail of local guide perk and i ordeded that 5 months ago but i haven’t received that yet.Please Help me to get back my reward.
