Recap: [Hybrid] India, November 15, Tripurari Purnima Celebration at Durgadi Fort, Kalyan

Attended this meetup in person at Durgadi Fort. I arrived a bit late with my brother after work.

I met the host @Sagarkanherkar along with his adorable son, Vihaan. We waited for others to join, but unfortunately, we were the only attendees.
From the spot where we had parked our bikes, we could see the lit-up kalash (#1), and all our tiredness of the day seemed to vanish.

I also met Sagar’s wife, and started walking from the entrance. People were lighting lamps from the base of the fort all the way up to the temple at the top. It was much more crowded than I had anticipated. Many elderly people were walking up to the temple, and numerous families(#4) had come to participate in the lamp-lighting ceremony. The festival brought a lot of energy and a sense of togetherness.

Seeing the fort illuminated was incredibly peaceful and refreshing. The fort was fully lit up, and the full moon added a magical touch.

We walked upstairs, enjoyed the mesmerizing view, and lit some diyas. We then explored the fort briefly. Durgadi Fort is a small fort that once served as a naval base.

It was Guru Nanak Ji’s 357th birthday, and I was delighted to see his photo displayed alongside those of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Lord Shri Ram (#5). This reflected the fort’s respect for diversity and different cultures.

By 8:30 PM, we began the virtual meetup. While Sagar greeted everyone and explained the details of the meetup and the Tripuri Pornima Utsav, I gave a virtual tour of the site. Everyone was thrilled to see the beautifully lit fort. Due to the overwhelming crowd, we had to keep the call short. Thank you for joining virtually @RosyKohli @Shreeish @TravellerG @AjitThite @ShailendraOjha @Shrut19 @MayuriKubal @NileshNag @TusharSuradkar @MohanG

We clicked a few photos, had a short discussion, and then headed back home.
It was a pleasure meeting Sagar’s family. Thank you for this wonderful meetup, it was truly a treat for the eyes to see Durgadi Fort in all its illuminated glory.
