Hello @SvenJacobs have always loved your railway station photo. it seems that Google photos is only updating when they increase 1%. That’s a lot even for your photo.
Have you considered making your profile public on Connect. right now it is hidden.

Ah that might explain, but also doesn’t. I was getting around 10 million view per month on everage. So google maps just being weird

I doubt very much that you have or that there is a maximum amount of views for any photo Sven but to many of us it would certainly appear that you have a view count that we will never achieve 
Regardless of whether your star has or hasn’t gained any views, I recommend that you update your date (e.g. add the date and same view count) and check and update where necessary your other Maps data.

Yes it’s pleasing to see that we’re slowly getting things back to normal @JustJake Formatting of the leaderboards is still an ongoing issue.

Thanks @PrasadVR for your thorough checking. The formatting of the leaderboard posts on the new Connect is an ongoing issue but I am making good progress now. I’m not at all sure what’s happened with the October links but once again links have been one of the major issues I’ve had on the new Connect. I will check this out.

Welcome back Sven. The view count on my Star Photo isn’t increasing either, but I still update the info on the Top100 system near the end of every month. If it never changes again, maybe my #2 or #3 photo would eventually claim first place, and I’d continue on the Leaderboards with a different entry.
You don’t seem to have a public link to your Maps profile, but I assume you also have a close #2 or #3 that you can monitor to see if they would exceed the performance of your #1.

Hello Sven,
Terry is correct, starting in February, Google changed the way to count and publish the number of views. While this 1 percent threshold causes updates being published much less frequently, other users also reported the total number views being reduced by around 50%!
Both changes together result in much less growth for the media with highest numbers of growth for most, if not all of us. 
BTW Google never published what exactly they changed. What I said is just the result of our experience since early this year.

I spent a bit of time looking into the Oct links issue. It turns out, which is logical when you think about it, all months prior to Oct used the old Connect link format. In Oct I introduced the new Connect link format. You can see the difference if you do this little test:
- Hover of the month and
- View the link format at the bottom left hand side of your browser window.
The T100 System handled only one of these formats. So now I’ve had to introduce some coding to handle both formats in the one leaderboard post. You will see that I’ve managed to do this in the just posted Top 100 Google Maps Local Guides Star Videos (November, 2024) post.

Happy New Year to all. Also goodbye November, as I’ve uploaded all my info for the December Leaderboards. This time, it appears @AdamGT has skillfully forced us to properly update the Star Photo links, as I’d skipped over that detail since the NEW Connect was launched. The Star pages can no longer be submitted without making that edit.

Yes indeed Anthony. This is important so that a Local Guide can quickly and easily flip from the leaderboards to your actual screenshot post. I do have some other link ideas for this to make it even more useful and interesting. Stay tuned
