It’s a great photo @WilfriedB beautiful composition with the view of Schloss Dyck through the trees and its reflection over the water and there’s also a nice story behind it given that your aunt took the same shot many years before. Thank you again for sharing it with us all.
Thanks a lot @Steve_UK.
It is not so far away from the UK. Whenever you come to the Düsseldorf area, let me know. However, to reach Schloss Dyck by public transportation is not so convenient,
Hi friend @WilfriedB , The cover photo and the B&W photo are beautiful. I like the story behind this great photo. It’s so interesting to see the coincidence between the photo you clicked and the half-century-back photo you inherited from your aunt.
Thank you very much @PrasadVR. It was coincidence that @AdamGT selected the photo of which I had the half century old counterpart. When you watch closely, you see how the building changed over time. At that time, it was still the property of the same family, as it was centuries ago - now it is a foundation taking care of the buildings and the parc.
Thanks @tony_b
We just contribute and the rest is up to the statistics lords and great effort of @AdamGT capturing them.
I don’t has as much time as last year, so having a backlog of 1000s of photos which I may never upload (is there a point of sharing photos after several months is an interesting question) and several great stories which I would have loved to share with local guides.
Just not enough hours in a day…
Still, I push what I can and glad it still makes an impact.
I see your Global listings were for Videos and Video Views. Congrats on those thousands of photos you have in your possession that aren’t uploaded, but I can see it would take a lot of personal time. They may still be relevant,
so perhaps you can scan through them and pick out specific ones. Addictions like these are nice, but eventually the realities of life must take first place. I do so little compared to many other LGs but it is still a challenge to keep it up sometimes.
@tony_b the video views story is simple… I actually don’t like taking videos in places!
I just take photos with video motion by default and at some point discovered that you can extract these video in Android quite easily and wanted to get the director badge so started uploading them instead (or with) of the pictures.
Guess what? Google decided to promote videos on maps and added the explore feature and all of the sudden the views of these 3 seconds clips started to mount.
So… Being lazy sometimes works.
Very interesting indeed @abermans. Funnily, I often somehow accidentally end up with motion when taking photos but then I edit them and I loose the motion before uploading…perhaps I should just avoid the editing and load as is. Is this what happens to you @tony_b ?
No, Adam. I’ve never had motion in my photos, but I’ve had instances where I thought I was taking a video and then discovered the camera was still in photo mode.
Meanwhile, my problem is that I took a year to get 100 videos to make the Expert Director badge. Should I expect to take 10 years to get 1,000 videos for the Master Director badge?
