Tags are a great way to describe your topic and make it easy for others to find your content when searching on Connect.
Once you select a category for your topic, a set of thematic tags will appear. You have to choose at least one, but you’re free to select up to three tags relevant to what you’re sharing.
Here’s a list of the tags in each category.
Pro tip: If you want to be notified of any new topics with a tag that interests you, go to that tag’s page, click on the bell icon, and select “Watching.”

And if someone from the community has helped you with a question or you want to show your appreciation for another Local Guide’s efforts, “Gratitude post” is the tag to use. “Sustainability” is a great tag for stories about your contributions around this topic, while “Women@LocalGuides” is perfect for amplifying the achievements of women in your community and on Connect.

Use the tag that best describes the Maps contribution you’re highlighting in your story.
For example, the “Attraction” tag is great for stories that focus on tourist attractions, such as historical sites, famous monuments, natural wonders, amusement parks, and more. The “Gallery” tag is perfect if you want to share about your experience at an art gallery in your hometown or a new place. The “Nature” tag fits topics about parks, mountains, exploring waterfalls, and catching sunsets at scenic spots. If you recently came across a place or service that follows green practices or you love to leave reviews that highlight eco-friendly details, tell us about it with the “Sustainability” tag.
Don’t forget to include Maps links to the locations you’re talking about and to your contribution on the map!
