Hi, @RohithaF

Yes. We have some famous national dishes. Sushi is so familiar to us. Actually we ate sushi yesterday as well. Sushi in Japan is traditional style and cheaper than other countries. If you have a chance, please try it

And, in addition to the @KarenVChin 's list, don’t forget Sake. Sake goes well with Sushi!

For Indonesian food, I think most people would agree that our ‘Nasi Goreng’ (fried rice) can be considered our national dish. We cook our fried rice with sweet soy sauce, and it gives a sweet taste. The best fried rice you can find in Indonesia is sold on the street and eaten on the sidewalks, with a side of pickles. Unsweeted jasmine iced tea afterwards. I’m drooling now  What do you think @NunungAfuah @BudionoS @BudiFXW ? Agree?

Nasi Goreng Babat (Tripe Fried Rice) + Sweet Pickles (Acar) + Unsweetened Jasmine Iced Tea = Happiness

@RohithaF , you had me at “mango lassi.” Thanks for the restaurant tip. Now, it will be even better if you were with me to order for me. = )

Cheers,

Karen

Hi @RohithaF !

Delicious meals :)))

Rice is an important meal in most of the countries. This is our Spanish Vertion, Paella. We usually cook it, or eat it in restaurants with family and friends. It´s easy to make it for a gropu. This one was cooked at a friend’s house.

It would be great to try the Paella with theMalbec that @FaridTDF mention. I have never drunk it, @KarenVChin , if I see it, I will buy it :)))

Good Morning from the South of Spain,

Alejandra.

@AlejandraMaria , you have me at paella! I have never had it in your “party size” version before!

A Malbec would be perfect. Full bodied, like a Cabernet.

@FaridTDF , thought of you when I saw this at my grocery store. This is all the Argentinian wines it carries. Recognize any of the labels?

Cheers,

Karen

With National Geographic’s definition of a national dish, I would argue that Kebab pizza is a Swedish national dish. I think many Swedes would disagree though.

Then we have the obvious ones such as meatballs, blood pudding and other more classic dishes.

It is made of fragmented Wheat flour dip into Melted Sugar.

I’m not a big fan of paella but it’s definitely one of the best known dishes we had in Spain…

But in my case, a good Spanish omelette (with potatoes), some Iberian ham or pescaíto frito (fried fish), it’s perfect with a chilled beer

I’ll try to post some photos later on! (Oh, and by the way, hi again everybody :joy:)
