A glance at Ben Tre, Mekong Delta, Vietnam

A weekend going to a remote area of Ben Tre Province, I found beautiful and peaceful scenery there.

If you come to the south of Vietnam, don’t skip the Mekong Delta where you could find very nice countryside.

Hi @JMD9 , yes it is. But people there get used to it, and actually not very difficult to cross it.

If you have a chance to visit here, you can try, fun and interesting.

Thank for your comment.

Hi @PhuongSGN @JMD9 @DUSKA-Italy,

I’m from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and very glad to see you.

Nice photos! Ben Tre is my wife’s homeland.

A very long time ago Cầu khỉ (also known as Monkey Bridge) was regarded as a symbol of rural areas in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam. This kind of bridge is a handmade bamboo/coconut tree/wood passway across a shallow stream or gully. It’s often found in the Mekong Delta (South Vietnam).

It seems that only clever monkeys can cross this bridge without falling into the water. However, this is not the reason people named Monkey Bridge, which maybe originated from the figure of people crossing the bridge really similar to monkeys.

There is a sidebar Select language at the top of any topic and it can be used for translation to any language we prefer.

Dear @Anh1710

Thanks for sharing more knowledge on the Cau Khi.

Actually there are very few Cau Khi left in Mekong Delta, only in very remote areas. The one I took is in a farm called San Chim Vam Ho.
