Ahungalla - Sri Lanka

Sunset over Ahungalla beach, Sri Lanka, photos were taken from RIU Ahungalla, An all inclusive hotel.

Ahungalla is close to Bentota one of the oldest beach tourism destinations in Sri Lanka. Bentota offers watersporDe in the sea and also in the river.

Ahungalla and Bentota are famous for their laidback atmosphere compared to the vibe in Hikkaduwa and Unawatuna, 30 & 50 km from Ahungalla.

Day tours from RIU would be Turtle hatchery - Kosgoda, Madu River boat safari - Balapitiya, Traditional Masks & folk art museum - Ambalagoda, Moonstone mines - Kahawa, coral watching, snorkeling and swimming ( & Good night life during Season) - Hikkaduwa, Dutch fort - Galle, Handloom factory - Pinnadoowa ( Galle) , Unawatuna beach, Jungle beach Unwatuna, Handunugoda Tea factory and museum ( renowned and only white Tea producer) - Imduwa

Wow list would be endless & will cater to every taste and preferences. I will try to bring more in my next posts

Hi @Prasanna-Aryaprema ,

Good photos, and Ahungalla beach looks very nice. However, your post might be taken as spam and as Local Guides we do not encourage promotion of business or spam, including name of particular hotel. Please check the Local Guides program rules and Local Guides community policy to make sure you’re not and will not violate any of them.

I’m moving your post to the Share Your Photos and Discoveries board, as the post will fit better there.

Thank you,

Hi @MarinSt

Thanks, I will take a note to not to mention businesses in my future posts.

Saludos Farid

Hello @ Prasanna-Aryaprema, the photos are very nice, but in Connect we like the ones that are original or at least mention the owner of them, http://justalittlenote-bianglala.blogspot.com.ar/2011/10/ eksotis.html? m = 1

It is also very important to keep in mind what was mentioned by @MarinSt, you can follow these tips on the Photos in Connect and look at these Tips Local Guides photos,

Hi @FaridTDF

Google Translation of my English text

Gracias,

Atentamente

Thanks,

But what made you think the photos are from the blog you have mentioned ?

I am the owner of the photos submitted, they were taken with my Iphone at the location I have mentioned. You can see the pool in some of these. Check the other photos below.

In addition to that my google time line and photo geotag would. Vouch for the authenticity of these photos and over thousand other photos I have shred in google map.

Best Regards

Prasanna

@FaridTDF

And you have used tags such as

" copia, fotos oroginales, and propiedad intelectual " without properly scrutinizing the photos and the text.

Prasanna

Y has usado etiquetas como
“copia, fotos oroginales, y propiedad intelectual” sin examinar apropiadamente las fotos y el texto.

Prasanna

@MarinSt Please read my previous reply with some more photos. Thanks

Hi @Prasanna-Aryaprema happy to hear that you are from Sri Lanka. I’m also from Sri Lanka, are you a member of SLLG HO chats? You can meet lots of Sri Lankan local guides from this HO chats.

Do you know, LGC has a 1,000 photo upload limit on Connect for all Local Guides, except for moderators (Google Moderators and Connect Moderators). Local Guides team encourage Local Guides to share their best images on LGC. please read this post

I’m planning to host a meet-up in Colombo (March), if you are free you can join to that meet-up

Hi @IlankovanT

Happy to connect with you

No I did not know that there is a limit of 1k in Google maps,

My photo count stands at 1300 + as at yesterday, and it accepted the photos I upload without problem or notification.

I would to mind adding photos even it doesn’t add points as it’s my hobby and I like to share how places/ addresses look like with fellow Google map users. But I noted that points were added too

However, I noted some points were reduced ( 3000 points) recently. Maybe the system adjusts the points later on. Would like to know your advice./ clarification.

Yes I would love to join the meet up in Colombo. Keep me posted

Cheers

Prasanna

Well, well. After reading the post you suggested I realized I misunderstood what you said about the limit. Ok its For LGC and not for the maps.

Anyway that’s good information so that I can reserve LGC for my favorite shots😎

Cheers
