I swear, unless someone from Google replies to this post and convinces me Google will take serious measures to avoid this kind of inanity, I will stop wasting my time contributing to Google Maps.
Hi @dandv.
I clearly see your point, but as I see other businesses located in the middle of the sea I am asking myself if the issue is that the business doesn’t exist or that the PIN is in a wrong position.
I wanted to check the address of the business, that literally is “Siargao Front of Havens Suit Resort, Purok 5 General Luna, Surigao, 8419 Surigao del Norte, Philippines”, No street name nor street number, but a simple reference (Siargao Front of Havens Suit Resort). So I wanted to search for that resort, and what I can see is that:
The street has no name
There are several business in front of the resort, as you can see from Street View
Do you know that area very well? I mean, are you sure that the business (that is also claimed) doesn't exist, and it is not just an issue with a pin in the wrong position?
I want also to inform you that, as your post doesn’t fit on Celebrations, I changed your category to Google Maps tips & tricks where it is more appropriate.

Same problem here… Some of my edits are automatically rejected… When I resubmit the edit it’s instantly rejected… losing hope in continuing to support Google Maps. I have same problem with Appeals for “Not posted” photos or reviews. Even if the review is long and legit it sometimes gets flagged as spam. When trying to appeal the decision it gets instantly canceled. When reporting problems to Google I get an email feedback after few days/weeks saying my account has no restrictions
Ugh, yes you are right. It was late at night when writing this When I resubmit the edit it usually automatically gets rejected instantly. Appeals also get instantly canceled when I appeal for example reviews or photos. I’m update the original comment.
I see, @dandv . So you don’t know the businesses, and you simply chose to remove them because their pin is in a place where it clearly can’t be.
I personally believe that as Local Guides we can do better. In an area where streets often don’t have names, the two businesses attempted to describe their location in the address area, providing a description of where they are located (in front of).
Not all small business owners have a good understanding of Maps, so why not help them instead of punishing them?
Moving a pin is much easier, and much less drastic, than erasing a business from Maps. Deleting a business is an irreversible process, so Maps is very cautious when a business is claimed, and there are no visible violations on its profile.
As you can see, the position of the first business has already been updated, and I am waiting to see if the second one will be updated too.
Have a nice day
