Cloudy weather and swells in Bora Bora. Photo taken from outside the outer reef.
That’s a great photo! Could you tell us more about Bora Bora and your experience there? When did you visit? How long were you there and what’s your favorite thing about this place?
The photo is magical, what camera did you use? Thanks for sharing.
Hi Danni,
Thank you for the kind word. I am a photographer and have lived in Bora Bora since 2013. The photo was shot with a Canon 5D MkIII / 15 mm fisheye & underwater housing as we were scouting spots in the water for wedding photos. Bora Bora is a peaceful place to leave although it has been a bit boring lately due to the lack of tourism and work. The positive side, it has allowed us to edit photos we never had time to process before. If one enjoys nature & water, it is a good place to be, you have to adapt to a more local lifestyle as we don’t have the commodities available. I was just checking out Google guide connect and saw many photos posted, so why not.
Here is another pic of Bora taken from near the reef facing the mountain, this time with a Canon 5DSr.

Thank you! Bora Bora is a pretty awesome place to visit. Love the culture & people here, that is what makes French Polynesia so beautiful:-)
@DanniS Thank you! Just getting my feet wet with Google Guides but will post more. You should definitely visit someday.
Ah, the French Polynesian - another bucket list option for me. I usually always take a dive into life there on SnapChat’s map feature but your photos are a much more beautiful perspective, @BoraBoraPhotoVideo . Very impressive photos, including the one with the dishes. The blue waters and beautiful hills have me looking to save every dollar I have to visit!
Hi @SP31 - Thank you for the mind word. Feel free to reach out if you ever plan on visiting and need advice. Bora Bora is a lot more affordable than it use to be, it is possible today to find “cheap” fares and lodging choices goes from $100 a night to of course $1500 + at the 5 star resorts.
@BoraBoraPhotoVideo pretty surprised at that range for lodging, honestly! But haha, the flights from Florida are the issue per se. A flight is about the cost of my rent haha, but one day! And when I do, I’ll keep you in mind. Thanks for keeping the dream alive with your fantastic photos.
@SP31 Local flights are still very expensive but international flights costs are nearly 1/2 of what they used to be a year ago. This is due to FrenchBee and United now offering the route PPT > SFO. We found flights this past January @$750 USD for PPT > SFO > NYC. Local fare PPT > BOB are around $300 to $450 unfortunately. There are today over airBnb and smaller lodge type accommodation for less than $200 a night.
@BoraBoraPhotoVideo Hi, just wanted to let you know I’ve removed the website from your comment as it’s considered advertisement. Thank you.
