In theory this should be a rest day. We kept it to visit the Krka National Park. Departing from Split, we head towards the Krka National Park, which is located near the town of Sibenik, which we already visited last year on our first cycling trip to Dalmatia.

This park is spread over a large area in the Krka River and its Cikola tributary in its lower part. Since the terrain is made up of travertine, the river has created a path with various waterfalls and lakes with navigable parts. We head towards the entrance of Lozovac, and buy the ticket with 100 kuna.

We could use the shuttle service to reach the point where the walk begins, but we are mountaineers and therefore we decide to go down the path to the river. I will pay dearly for this because, after the descent, I already feel pretty bad under my left knee and I can hardly walk. However, the park, apart from the confusion of incredible people, since it is Sunday and for many Orthodox and also Easter, is very interesting and offers the opportunity to indulge in taking pictures of the water, animals and people.

In the midst of the crowd of people present, a furious struggle to get the best places to have lunch seated. We ate two chicken breasts and decided to drive to other parts of the park with the hope of finding fewer people. We head towards the lake which has the island of Visovac at its center, seat of an ancient monastery from the 1400s. From our shore there is no possibility to navigate to the island and therefore we decide to head towards the Roski Slap waterfalls. Here only a few cars and an easy path, without finding too many people, but the weather has deteriorated a bit, rain is threatening and the temperature has also dropped.

Fortunately, at the end of the walk, a ray of sunshine comes out and allows us to take some nice pictures. The situation is much more liveable than in Skradinski buk for two reasons: there are about twenty kilometers to be covered by car and the place, although very beautiful, is less popular for tourists. I leave you to the photos to enjoy this magnificent place. Tomorrow there is a stop in Dugi otok, but rain is expected and as the doctor has not ordered it, we will decide what to do and if it rains, we will obviously stay in the hotel or go to orchids.
