Hello Everyone, i have moved to Ras Al Khaimah, UAE last year and on several occasions I’ve observed most of important locations in the city is not marked on Google Maps, Lets meet up to discuss how we can work on this to improve this Google Maps facility, cheers.

Welcome to our online Local Guides Connect community. I noticed that you have at least one person signed up to your meet-up. Great! I also noticed that there doesn’t seem to be an unofficial LG community in your area. Perhaps you can use your meet-up to discuss this and recruit some fellow co-moderators for your regional community?

As you are new to Connect, I recommend you explore the many sections of the site and check out the conversations taking place between Local Guides on this platform. This Getting Started section has some good tips on how to use the community and interact with fellow Local Guides.

Here are some basic guidelines you should know before you start participating:

  • Search the community before posting as others may have asked your question (and received an answer) already.
  • Use a descriptive title for your post to make it easier for people to know whether they should open it.
  • Share a story with your photo(s) - tell your fellow Local Guides something about the location’s history, why you like it, a few details on what is in the pictures, etc.
  • Use the Location field to geotag your post to a specific place, but make sure it’s important to the content of the post.
  • Please, don’t share personal information on the forums, check out the private messaging option instead.

And finally, don’t forget to introduce yourself to the other Local Guides on our May 2017 introduction thread, if you haven’t already done so, and feel free to ask if you need any further help or tips.
