Observation decks on top of the tallest towers are the top tourist attractions in Japan.
In Osaka, the Oh-so-beautiful Tsutenkaku Tower beaconed me the evening I arrived there on the Shinkansen bullet train.
Here’s the busy street that leads to the Tsutenkaku Tower.
The street is lined with food joints and souvenir shops.
My heartbeats increased as I walked towards this fabulous-looking tower.
It was a sight to behold and I did not blink for a moment.
I purchased the tickets in the basement of the tower and retained it as a souvenir.
The information desk is both Japanese and English, with a lot of free booklets to read and take away, hand sanitizer, and the waiting time for the elevator.
The walk from the desk to the elevator lift is long and winding.
So they have placed a lot of random and retro artifacts on the way for entertainment.
There are also a lot of shops along the way.
An interesting feature of the elevator is an analog dial display of the floor.
Here’s the interior of the observation deck for a 360° view of Osaka city.
Here are some of the night views of Osaka city in 4 directions.
Within the observation deck are more souvenirs to purchase and a lot of colorful lighting.
Also in the photo collage below are the entrance of the tower in the basement and the rear view of the Tsutenkaku Tower.
An important feature are tourist places in Japan is the souvenir stamps.
Carry a blank notebook to collect all.
Inspired by this, I created my stamp that reads ‘Tushar Suradkar - Local Guide’ from stampjam.com.
