Celebrate Choose Women Wednesday With Me

Hy Local Guides,

Today is viewed as Choose Women Wednesday (December 4th). This day is to shop from women-owned businesses around us which in fact support women owners and entrepreneurs.

Aim:

  • Support women-based/owned businesses.
  • Promote and encourage women-led initiatives.
  • Empower and encourage women-driven businesses.
  • Promote and encourage equality and inclusivity.
  • Shop to support local small women-owned businesses.

How you can find women-owned businesses in Google Maps.

Go to the “About” section of a business profile in Maps.
When you scroll down, you can see a badge with “Identifies as women-owned” like the image above.

Also you can also find women-owned businesses by searching “women owned business near me” in the search bar of Maps.

How I support women-based businesses.

  • Editing new local small women-owned businesses to Maps.
  • I would help them to edit features like Accessibility, Amenities, Payments, etc. (in "edit feature)
  • Adding exterior and interior photos to the businesses. (Also videos)
  • Adding menu photos if it’s a women-owned Restaurant or cafe.

Jessa’s Story ( Eve’s owner )

Jessa is from Philippines. She had a job there. Resigned the job and came with her husband, @Betajayakumar to Kerala and started Eve’s coffee, one of the most famous Women-owned LGBTQ+ friendly coffee shops in Kerala/Trivandrum. You can find more about Jessa in this post.

Excellent topic dear @Rahul001
I know a few women-led businesses in my area and will try to visit those today.

However, why everyone is obsessed with Priyanka is beyond me.
She had abandoned Connect a long time ago, and everyone fails to find a woman local guide other than here

We have a galaxy of women local guides out here in Pune and Mumbai.

During our mega meetup last month, we had an amazing panel of women local guides, and I will post a short article later today:

As a woman I take pride in supporting women entrepreneurs and uplifting local women in their journeys.:heartpulse::handshake:
I usually try to help by buying local stuffs like masalas, chocolates, cookies, handcrafted jewellery from women entrepreneurs when I visit offline exhibitions.
Here is one such example

@Rahul001 Man, you always come up with wonderful topics! :raised_hands:
This is truly inspiring, especially the focus on supporting women-oriented businesses.

I have worked at the ground level to support local women artists and shops in rural areas in past years, and this post has motivated me to contribute again and add visibility to their businesses.
I would visit those places again, update on map if still active and help make a difference :handshake:

Here are few lines from me:
To the women, bold and kind,
Shaping the world with heart and mind.
