Celebrate Heritage Treasures Day

Hy Local Guides,

Today is viewed as Heritage Treasures Day (January 11th). This day is to bring awareness and to preserve our heritage. Heritage can be Local monuments, Museums, Arts & culture, Historical landmarks & sites, etc…

Aims

  • Protect and preserve Local Monuments and Museums.
  • Share our heritage related festivals in the community.

Katha Kali forms displaced at Natural History Museum. To know more about Katha Kali, please look into @TravellerG’s Post.

How we as a local guides can help:

  • Exploring Local Heritage: Visiting heritage and sharing your Reviews in Google Maps not only gives you points but also shares the culture. You can do Meetups inside the Heritage compound (please ask the permission of the respected authorities) like the meetup done by @NareshDarji at Rani Ki Vav.

  • Sharing knowledge: You can share your experiences and knowledge of heritage you visited in Connect like @TusharSuradkar’s posts about Clock towers.

  • Accessibility and Bathroom Facilities: Please don’t forget to add accessibility and bathrooms facility features of heritage sites in Google Maps as in the reviews or in the “Edit Feature” section.

Share your local Heritage sites or landmarks or museums in the comments and share your experiences when you visited the place.

What a nice day to remember, dear @Rahul001 :+1:
Your post is live at the right time and should inspire many.

Besides clock towers, the DeepMal LampPosts are a glowing symbol of our heritage that can be found in most small and large temples across India.

We had one such RECAP - Small Business and LampPost Meetup in Pune.

This is a great initiative! Celebrating Heritage Treasures Day and focusing on preserving our local heritage through Google Maps is a fantastic way to combine technology and cultural preservation. @Rahul001 I always update our heritage on Google Maps so everyone can see it.

Thank you @TusharSuradkar for the valuable comment and sharing the LampPost meetup and for reminding me about Lamp. I will share you a “kind of lamp” situated in every corner of my city (it’s usually seen in front of the temple).

Thank you, dear @Rahul001
and the same here in Pune and Maharashtra.
We have a lamp post deepmal in almost every temple.
So our heritage is right there - in front of our eyes.
We only need to document these and share them with the world.
Your post today serves the purpose of inspiring people to take up this activity :+1:
