Hy Local Guides,
Today is celebrated as International/National Cooking Day (25th September 2024) annually. International Cooking Day celebrates the joy of cooking, cultural diversity and the art of cooking experiences and expressions. It also signifies values, creating and trying new culinary dishes from different cultural diversity. I like a dialogue from the movie Ratatouille: "Anyone can cook, but only the fearless can be great”. There’s a chef I know who used to say, “It may be salty or spicy, but only when you make it”. At first, I didn’t understand what he meant but as time passed, I realised that you have to make an effort to make the dish and let go of your fears.
How can we celebrate:
- Promote cross-cultural experiences through the food.
- Share your ideas about dishes with your friends and family.
- Share your recipes with your friends and family members.
- Give your compliments to the chefs of restaurants you visit today.
- Most importantly, Cook your favourite dishes for your friends and family members.

As today is Cooking Day, Benedict Wilfred from Beatles Cafe & Grilled House has cooked me Poached Egg with Bread. He also was thrilled to show me the kitchen and how he cooks. I thank him for the dish he made for me on this Wonderful day. There’s a quote I like for this moment, “not everyone can be an artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere”.
Comment down your favourite dish you made or going to make on this day ( image if possible) and share your recipes.
