# CHALLENGE! Let Us Celebrate International Plant Appreciation Day to recognise the plants’ role in our Life & Earth's Ecosystems. A Green Tribute to Nature’s Marvels!

Hello friends,
Let us CELEBRATE and join the #CHALLENGE!

Today, April 13th, is celebrated annually as International Plant Appreciation Day. This day is dedicated to recognising the importance of plants, their diverse benefits, and their vital role in maintaining our Mother Earth’s ecosystems. Whether it’s a towering tree, a delicate flower, or a humble houseplant, this day is a reminder of how vital plants are to our survival and well-being.

From dense rainforests to backyard gardens, they produce the oxygen we breathe (& absorb the carbon dioxide), provide food and medicine, regulate the climate, and support our entire ecosystems.

Let’s grow our gratitude—one leaf at a time

How can ‘Local Guides’ join the celebration?

  • Write a ‘Post’ on LG Connect with a ‘Topic’ connected with #InternationalPlantAppreciationDay:

Write about your favourite plant/tree (with photos) and why it is important to you
(conserving the world ecology), Plant-based home Remedies, etc.

  • Visit a Botanical Garden or a Park with greenery: Explore the diversity of plant life from the real world.

  • Start a Garden: Whether it’s herbs on a windowsill or vegetables in a yard, gardening is both rewarding and eco-friendly; also, you can buy an Indoor Plant.

  • Learn and Share: Read about plant biology, conservation, or traditional plant-based remedies—and share your knowledge as a post in our LG Connect.

The #CHALLENGE - join the Celebration!

Very simple:

  • If you are visiting a Garden or Park, capture and upload some helpful photos to Google Maps and share a few of them in the comments of this post (try to add a Google Maps link also).
  • Otherwise, capture or select a plant (kindly avoid flower alone photos) or beautiful tree (it can be from your ‘Photo Collections’) and upload (max 3 photos only) it in the comments - thus join the celebration - request you to add a comment how it helps our ecosystem and beauty of the place.
  • Write a post in our LG Connect, and kindly tag me and include the hashtag #InternationalPlantAppreciationDay

The ‘Last Date’ for entries: 15th May 2025.

The ‘Awards’

  1. Adding Photos: The five best ‘Photos’ will be awarded digital Certificates.
  2. Publishing Posts: The five best ‘Posts’ will be awarded digital Certificates.

Hope you will join and make the ‘CHALLENGE’ successful.

Thank you for this challenge @TravellerG
Yesterday, at @AjitThite meetup, we gathered in a park with unique plants.
So I missed this challenge by a whisker.

The next time I go to a park, I will capture some unique and interesting plant photos and, if possible, information about it - then publish a post or share the photos.
