After a little trip by car to Chapada Diamantina National Park in Brazil I decided to do a series of publications about the park aiming to inspire people around all the world to travel to this amazing destination. We are at the 3rd episode of this little serie. If you just got here now and didn’t read the others episodes, please, check it out below.
Today, we’re gonna to talk a little bit about an iconic mountain in the park (a big postcard) named Morro do Pai Inácio.
This postcard mountain of the Chapada Diamantina rises 1,150m above sea level and offers a fantastic view of the region. The mountaintop itself is a natural rock garden, with bromelians, orchids, and other endemic plants.
Morro do Pai Inácio is a popular spot for ending the day at sunset and is located in the right side of the highway BR-242 towards Brasília city town (west).
The mountain attracts people from all of the world, mainly backpackers. To get there, you need to take the car through a small trail until a parking lot. Getting there you need to pay a little tax fee to preservation (just 3 bucks in US dollar). And then, you’re free to go to the best part, a walking trail with uphill. But, relax, the physical effort required is light and the mountain top view is amazing.
I hope you like the landscape in some pictures, taken by myself.
Thank you a lot for comment @Istillwannahavefun ! Yeah. It’s very similar to Blue Mountains! Australia looks like amazing. I hope to road there as soon as possible.
@MatheusRequiao There are lots of quaint towns in the Blue Mountains that are full of antique stores, bookstores, cafes for when it’s super cold - and beautiful walks and hikes for when it’s not! I hope you get there some time!
Absolutely stunning mountain views! Do you often visit these mountains? I really like your last photo of the sunset and the cactus.
Are there many cactuses in these mountains? I find them really cool plants and have some at home. Are there any huts in these mountains, where you can spend overnight?
Thanks a lot @DanniS ! Yeah, this National Park is located in the contryside, about five hours by car from my home (I live in the coast). But, I go there always I can. I’m soo glad you liked it. Stay safe!
@MatheusRequiao Brazil is such a beautiful country, I wish to see it too but too far from Cambodia. You gave a great idea on where to go over there. I wish the visa for entry is not that hard for me! I don’t think there is Brazilian Embassy in Cambodia.*
