✨ You’re invited to an exclusive Local Guides event on October 1✨

Thanks to your helpful contributions on Google Maps, you’re invited to an in-person Contributor Conversation in our Gurgaon office.

As promised in my post on Gestures to Cherish, I am going to share my experience of attending this event throughout this post.

I have been invited 🎉 to an exclusive Local Guides event Contributor Conversations on October 1, 2024. The energy in the event was electric and amazing to meet and converse with fellow Local Guides and the Googlers.

The registration desk at Google office was cool. The professional photographers were shooting our moves which made us feel like the Stars. We were also given the stickers of Local Guides and Google at the time of registration.

We were warmly welcomed by @Kristen_NYC followed by high tea. This was the time when we had the opportunity to meet and greet fellow LGs and Googlers in person. A few glimpse of High Tea memories clubbed with dinner in the short clip is shared towards the end of this post.

After finishing the high tea we clicked some of the interesting theme based decorations signifying the Google Maps and the Local Guides.

The session started with @Latika_Malhotra (Product Marketing Manager, Community, India) outlining the day schedule followed by congratulating Nine Level 10 Local Guides from India including yours truly, by announcing and flashing their names.

A couple of presentations were made on Products and some upcoming features by the Googlers. In between we had two round of group discussion in presence of Googlers where in we have shared our views, ideas and improvements in regards to Google Maps. Our points were well taken for the consideration.

The last session was a panel discussion on Beyond the Map: The Local Guides Community where three Indian Connect Moderators @Globe_trotter_Ish, @NareshDarji and @TusharSuradkar were there in the panel discussion moderated by
@Latika_Malhotra. They discussed about the importance of Local Guides, their journey as a Local Guide and how can we further strengthen the Local Guides Community and expand the Google Maps user base in India. There was a focussed discussion on adding more Small Business on Google Maps.

The excellent session ended with a Thank You note from @Kristen_NYC followed by Gala Dinner.

Here, I would love to share a small clip with you as what all we have been through during the High Tea and Gala Dinner.

The event was executed flawlessly with meticulous planning and execution by the team.

We thoroughly enjoyed meeting the co-LGs from different states of India and had a great time interacting with each other.

Last but not the least, I loved the vegetarian cuisine much with its delicious taste.

And, at last the surprise was the Google Swag Kit with branded and quality products. This was given to all the participants in the event along with Thank you letter. It was very thoughtful kit for the Local Guides. All items are of extreme use and Local Guides can always carry with themselves. Thank you!

Thanks once again for inviting to witness such an amazing event. We are thrilled to further Discover and Share more on Google Maps and Connect. With this I am also starting a new series named Discover and Share. Stay tuned!

Hope to meet you all soon in another such lovely electrifying event.

Keep building a well-informed community stronger :muscle: together.

Stay Happy, Stay Healthy!

JAI HO!!!

Indeed we had a great time meeting in person. We have been interacting online but in person meet leaves the mark forever.

I am thankful to Local Guides team and Googlers to organize such event. And, as discussed and shared inputs with the team, many more such events should be organized to bring together LGs in person.

Thank you so much @TusharSuradkar for reciprocating the feelings likewise.

Here is a moment of truth where we all have witnessed our CMs sharing their experiential journey stories.

Thank you for expressing your feelings about the enjoyable time and experiential learning we all had together. For many of us it was the first time experience meeting with seasoned LGs and Googlers and exchange our thoughts.

It was great to see our LG friends travelled from far states to attend this event. This shows the commitment level of our LGs fertinity.

This also shows that how some of us have created the cohesive environment to enjoy such bondings.

Thank you once again for expressing and reciprocating the feelings.

And, BTW, the precursor to this event was the meet-up conducted by you at India Gate was a great example of taking the team along.

Thank you @Ssiddharth2000 for your nice words.

Yes, indeed it was an amazing event to cherish the moment for long.
