Yeah I noticed thus yesterday as I was doing an outing and about yo check a few facts (which you know) isn’t easy as it means phoning the business to confirm their opening hours and whether they are still in business.
The glitch happened yesterday.

Hi @StephenAbraham thanks for reply, yeah i just found a decrement of 3 to 4 points every time and this point depreciation happens with me since yesterday evening and still losing it.

I want to say in English so that many more can understand this.
The last time this happened was in August - September (2018) so the IT dept have probably been working on this kind of issue.
I had posted a few reviews when I had lunch somewhere on my Want to go list on the 2 weeks. They were detailed and thorough reviews with photos of the food I ate and with the manager knowing afterwards I had done a review.
Besides these were places I am going back to so it isn’t a ‘quick and go’ review of somewhere I wasn’t planning on returning to.
I am planning on returning to all the places I review as my usual 5 stars mean what I say about the place.

When did you first notice your points decreasing? Is this happening on every device–mobile and desktop? If you’re using desktop, have you tried using a different browser, as well as deleting cache and cookies?
Also, have you tried update the Google Maps app on your phone? Try logging out and in your Google account on both mobile and desktop.
Have you noticed if there’s also a decrease in the number of your reviews, photos and/or edits which may lead to points decreasing?
Looking forward to your replies so that we can investigate further.

Hi @DeniGu thanks for getting back to me about this.
I noticed my points dropped from 35,252 yesterday morning at 11.30 am when I was doing a city outing.
I used 1 mobile phone as the data allowance on the others will reset in a week.
When I got home around 6pm I checked my other mobile phones and the decrease in points were the same on my phones.
I’ll now update Google maps on my phones and desktop and see what happens.
Thanks so much for your assistance in this a I take my reviewing seriously. So do the businesses I review!

Hello @DeniGu thanks for jumping into this issue. I will be answering the questions now. I firstly noticed the decrease from yesterday on the 7th May 2019 in the morning from 07:30 am, this affects both Android and desktop, I tried all the tips you gave to us such as using another browser, deleting cookies and cache, tried to update Google Map on mobile, logged out and in from both mobile and desktop, the last thing I did was to check if I have any decrease in number of photos, reviews, or edits and I could not pick up any, the numbers seems to be ok for both mobile and desktop, on desktop I am using Google Chrome and I switched to Internet Explorer but still there is no difference. Bellow are the screen shots of what my points are currently.

The day before yesterday I had more than 28 000 points, but now I have 27 802 points. I must be honest that I gained points in the last 2 to 3 weeks and those I did not know what were they for. I am not complaining about those points I just want to provide proof that there is something wrong with the system some how, which might be reason why others have this issues now. Thank you.

I first noticed the problem late Monday night. It continued through Tuesday. Each time that I looked, more points were missing. I sent my fiance a link to my maps page, and she observed the same issue. I saw it on my phone and my home computer.
yes I have checked it on multiple devices and my program is up-to- date. I have deleted the cache and cookies. I have logged out and logged back in again. I have not noticed a decrease in the number of reviews or photos, but I have so many that it would be difficult to know.

My points reduction has stopped today.
In my contributions my Answers have gone down by 200 or so.
As others have mentioned, for the last few days my points do seem to have increasing for no apparent reason.
So no complaints from me.

You are right @Muffty , you got exactly the point.
@DeniGu , casually, for responding on another post, I took a screenshot two days ago, so I can clearly see what is going on.

The drop of point is related to answer only.
If I remember correctly, times ago some Local Guide reported about questions asked two or more times, on Google Maps app.
In my opinion this is just the alignment of the system, that is removing the points received twice or more, for responding to the same question.
Do you agree @DeniGu ?

I am using Local Guide connect App on my android Asus zenfone Max mobile phone.
Yesterday I noticed the decrease in my points from 7599 to 7462.
