Edge Of The World
Traveling Date: 26-Mar-2021
Camera: Samsung S20 FE
Group: I with a group of three friends decided to have a hangout at the edge of the world.
Location: Edge of The World. Located 80 km away from the center of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Prepare Before you go: You must arrange few bottles of water, few cans of cold drinks, few packets of chips according to your need.
Pickup Point: Saad Square. Usually, tourists’ agents are having two different times on Fridays and Saturdays. The first one first from 11:00 AM to 07:00 PM and the Second one from 02:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Mode of Transport: Agents are providing Coaster buses while there is an option that you may take your own vehicle if you wish to. My advice is that take your car only if it is a four-wheel drive. Be there at Saad Square one hour before the departure time.
Payment: You have to pay in full before riding to the buses. Normally they charge from 150/- SAR to 200/- SAR. Fluctuation in the price depending on the attraction and facilities being provided by the agents.
Travel Duration: It will take from 2 to 2.5 hours to reach the destination. During this time, you have to drive off-road half of the way. The path is very dusty with lots of potholes without any roads neither asphalt nor concrete nor even water bond macadam road. So, expect, quite a rough terrain and uneven surface to drive or to ride a bus. There are many undulations and in some places, there is a steep plummet and somewhere sudden rise. Therefore, the driver must be trained, and the vehicle must be four wheels.
Edge of the world: We, a group of four friends, left the spot “Saad Square” at 2 pm and reached the edge of the world by 4:30 pm approx. During the journey, we had a small break near a mosque on the outskirts of the city.
The location is stunning and breathtaking. It literally looks like that we have reached the edge and there is not any place to go further. A location is a group of high cliffs, raised dramatically from nowhere, in a barren land. There is not any mountainous region in the surrounding and these raised cliffs look like a huge castle built by God Almighty, having high burjs and minarets. There is a big difference in the ground level of either side of the cliffs. The cliffs raised almost 3,500 high from the MSL. The other side of the cliff, which is not accessible, is a seabed. We can see remains of a seabed which were flowing proudly 100s of years ago but now it swallowed by the sandy earth and not a single water drop is available. In sha Allah, one day the river will come back to life and there will be greenery everywhere as it is prophesied by our Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him).
After sunset, we set off to return to a resort. Where we had some activities like Bow-Arrow, Horse Riding, Quad Bike ride, Music, Shisha, and Arabic cuisine dinner.
Conclusion: Add this location to your “Must go” list and it has to be visited at least once. The location is breathtaking, stunning, serene, and calm which will tend you to ponder about the creation of God to whom we’re all going to be returned, how Mighty He is!
