Fesikh: the main dish of Sham Elnasim.

Hi Local Guides, I’m Hany from Egypt.
Today Egyptians celebrating a National festival Day called Sham Elnasim Day. The most important thing in this Day is The Fesikh Dish.

Fesikh is a type of fishes, typically, mullet and sardines, preserved in salt and some spices for few days in Special conditions.

Even though a lot of people like it too much, others are not and get sick of it.

Honestly, Fesikh is very delicious if it is well prepare and stored; on the contrary, it is very harmful dish if it is incorrectly prepared and stored. So, I don’t recommend for anyone eating or selling Fesikh from unknown stores or restaurants.
Anyway, I created a list for some of well-known Fesikh stores in Cairo, Egypt Here .
Besides Fesikh, lettuce and pickled onion should be served as appetizers.

Regarding dessert, Milk Pasta, which is kind of pasta cooked with ghee or butter sugar and some other ingredients should be served after the Fesikh meal.

For kids, colored boiled eggs always the best choice.
On this day, people always spend all the day picnicking in farms, zoo, gardens and on the banks of the Nile to enjoy the beginning of spring, but Unfortunately, this year covid-19 ruined everything. Let us hope that this unwelcome visitor will soon go away, and life will soon go back to normal.

This song is basically considered as the official song of this Day. The song means the World is Spring.
