Frustrating Issue: My Approved Place Additions Keep Disappearing! Need Advice!

Hey fellow Local Guides,

I’m hoping someone in the community can shed some light on a really frustrating issue I’ve been experiencing for a while now. As a Level 8 Local Guide with 8 years of contributing, I take pride in helping keep Google Maps accurate and up-to-date in my area.

Recently, I’ve noticed a pattern where places I add to the map are initially approved and visible, sometimes even gaining views, but then disappear completely after a few days.

Here are a couple of examples:

  • I added “Bilal Traders” (2HJQ+M4F, Peshawar Ring Rd., Ashrafia Colony, Pes… - Submitted March 27th, Accepted with 77 views). My friend, the owner, confirmed it was visible, but now it’s gone when we search.

  • Similarly, I added “Lady Dentist,” which gained over 300 views in a week after being approved, only to vanish from the map shortly after.

This isn’t an isolated incident; I’ve had multiple other places disappear after being live for just a few days. I always try my best to follow guidelines: verifying details with owners, taking photos, and choosing accurate locations. I even visit places to update info and remove outdated listings.

It’s incredibly disheartening to put in the time and effort to contribute, only to see these additions vanish without explanation. It makes me question the value of my contributions if they aren’t going to stick.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Could there be something I’m missing, or is this a potential bug or system issue? Any advice or insights on how to get these legitimate places to stay on the map would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!

@Googlers need look at this matter

All additions go through a verification cycle @Hanifahsan if the reviewer (human or AI) could not complete the fact check then it could get removed.

You’re right, @PaulPavlinovich , and I understand that verification is crucial. My concern isn’t about the verification process itself. It’s that I’m adding places that genuinely exist and are actively operating at the exact locations I’ve pinned and also approved. The two examples I mentioned, Bilal Traders and Lady Dentist, are still there and running, yet they’ve disappeared from the map after being initially approved.
