Handmade Heritage Meet-up Series #handmadeheritageseries

Hello All,

I’m thrilled to announce the launch of the Handmade Heritage Meetup Series starting in 2025, dedicated to supporting local artisans, celebrating their craftsmanship, and promoting small businesses worldwide.

Throughout my time using the Connect platform and connecting with #LocalGuides globally, I’ve come to appreciate the unique arts and crafts each country has to offer ! These local artisans learn their family’s traditional art and come up with some of the most beautifully hand-crafted items ! I am glad to we have the Connect and Maps forum that allows us to explore diverse cultures, learn about their traditions, and support artisans by helping grow their businesses using Maps ! Together we can bring out the cultural richness of our heritage and help support local artisans and their local businesses !
I will share the links to meet-ups and their recaps here :
Meet-up and recap links :

Meet-up 1 : Blue Pottery artisan meet-up series

Note : Got any ideas or interested in co-hosting any meet-ups under this series with me which would focus on supporting loacl artisans in your area ? Please PM here on Connect so that we can co-host the meet-up together ! You can even host a meet-up at your end and tag me or simply mention #handmadeheritageseries and #mapsforall.
Thanks!

This is a very good initiative @Globe_trotter_Ish I am connected to various groups of artisans as I am a resin artist myself and also do madhubani paintings in Delhi. Miniature paintings is one such art where artisans need a boost as it is a dying art form. It would be great if we can host a meet up this field. Blue pottery I have heard first time but I have been to Andretta it’s a pottery village where ancient time pottery is taught and it is located in palampur, Himachal Pradesh. It is a brilliant place to host a meet up.

@Globe_trotter_Ish Bijoypur in Comilla Sadar Dakshin Upazila is a pottery village. Many people in this village have been making and marketing clay items for a long time. They have been doing the work of making clay items with utmost devotion for generations. Due to the easy availability of plastic, many people are no longer interested in clay items. However, there is a huge demand for aesthetically crafted clay crockery and show-piece items beyond the borders of the country and abroad.

Despite so many problems and crises, the only representative organization of potters of Bijoypur in Comilla, ‘Rudrapal Samabay Samity’, has retained the history and tradition of Bengalis.

Pictures from when I visited there.

Blue pottery looks unique! Photo and the banner lay out are excellent, with color combination.
