How to add an address on Google Map of a duplicate business inside of another business

I am trying to help a ice cream shop owner. He gave me this address which I have tried to input several times but Google Maps won’t allow me to add it. (Los Guisos de Amada Libramiento Chapala Ajijic 2003 Chapla

He has an existing primary location that comes up in Google Maps in San Nicolas de Ibarra, Jalisco Mexico.

His new location second location is attached to Los Guisos Amada restaurant. This restaurant has another location as its primary location. This Google Map address is just Chapala, Jalisco.

Neither one of the secondary locations has a website or phone number.

These two businesses are attached to a third business Grupo Olmesa

Libramiento Chapala-Ajijic 132, Centro, 45920 Ajijic, Jalisco Mexico.

20°18’24.7"N 103°12’59.4"W

20.306861, -103.216500

This is basically a road that connects two towns Lake Chapala and Ajijic Jalisco Mexico.

Hello @Skychitravels I’m not sure why it happened, but your post accidentally was put in the spam folder. I have now released it, so people can have a look at the issue you describe.

I will also have a look myself and will then post another comment if I can say anything meaningful to help.

With which name exactly and category are you trying to add the ice cream shop @Skychitravels ? The fact that there is a restaurant there cause the algorithm to reject the edit if the name you submit is the same or very similar to the one of the restuarant and if you’re not using a different category (“Ice cream shop” is available as category, so that is the best option).

From what I read in your post, it would definitely make sense to have a separate listing (as there is e.g. a different business owner). By the way: did he try signing up for Google My Business? That should enable him to get more control.

I would second the advice of @JanVanHaver the business owner should take this to Google My Business where managing multiple sites is well supported. The owner should visit https://business.google.com/ and claim their Maps entry and add the new one.

Thanks Wii do

Ok, great to hear that @Skychitravels

One more thing which is quite important here on the forum: if you want to make sure that another Connect user sees a reply you give, make sure to ‘tag’ them by typing the ‘@’ symbol and then select that user from the list (or start typing the name if there is no list).
