Hello all,
I am finding difficulties in adding videos to my reviews I am not able to get the option to add videos and only get the option of photos.
If anyone can help me or guide me to do so it will be much appreciated.

متاسفانه رو گوشی من ساسونگ , امکان اضافه کردن ویدئو وجود نداره و فقطعکسها رو از گالری باز میکنه. لطفا راهنماید بفرمایید چطور میتونم ویدئو اضافه کنم؟
Hi Amir I add video to a POI just like I add a picture. Easy. But it can take a while to upload.
Hi dear morten. Thanks for your reply. On my samsung, there is only one botton to add a photo (NOT ADD A PHOTO OR VIDEO) and when I push that botton , it only opens photos in my gallery, not videos.

In the photo option you can select not only the photos but a video file also.

Hi @PradeepRajput to add on what @C_T has mentioned, you can add video of up to 30 seconds with a minimum of 3 seconds. any video greater than 30 seconds it will be reduced to 30 seconds.

It does not give the option of uploading video file as only supported file format are jpeg and all.
There is an on gong thread on the same subject. You may find some clues in that.
You can’t upload a video on the phone through Maps. You need to do that through Google Photos.
Alternatively, you can upload a video along with a review through the browser. Some users are experiencing difficulty in that too. However, I was able to upload a 6 seconds MP4 file through the browser.

The process is same as suggested by others. I can suggest another way to add videos on maps.
Select video - share - map - choose listing and done.

However, a word of caution here. One should not add any photo or video at a place which is not expected to have that.

I am not sure about the reason behind sharing those both links in your replies in this thread. I can see both the link are redirecting to two different threads and those threads are no longer relevant to this one.
- It says that how to add photos/videos to areas…
- OP says that he is not able to add videos via PC…
Please keep the conversation in same way so that others can help too.

Actually there are two questions in this thread.
- No option to add videos.
- Video section is not available in contribution section.
- As mentioned by others you easily can add videos using your phone by clicking on add photos option. You can not add videos via PC as it is not available.
- As of now there is no such option available for any map user. You are always welcome to share your idea in idea section…

Thanks for the clarification.
The point is, adding a photo or video through “Google photos” is a workaround & is to be used only as a last resort.
One should try to upload photos and videos directly through Maps.
Video upload is possible through a browser.
However, some users are not able to do that & the point has been escalated.

Thanks for highlighting passive voice misuse in my reply!
There is another thread started by MadhusudhanA on 8th August on “Unable to upload video from a browser”.
You can locate that thread through search box, as links are going haywire.
Google moderator SonyNg is looking into that issue.

To learn more about how to upload videos please check this article: Add, remove, or share photos and videos. As other Local Guides replied to you, videos can be shared the same way as photos. Also, you can take a look at the How to post great videos on Google Maps. Currently, only Android and iPhone users can upload videos from their mobile devices.
