How to get rewarded

I’m Local Guide Level-7 but to close to get level I didn’t get any type of rewards from Google. Since I’m working as local from last few years. I’m achieving all levels and answer to all users of Google Maps asking questions and add many places and reviews and photos so many facts I checked in maps but I didn’t get single gift from Google. No meet up calls from local guides and google

Now what can I do? Anyone answer my question. Give me any idea to get reward for Google because some people is only level 4 the got rewards by Google but I am near 8 level but I don’t received any rewards

Hi @Rohitjha

Thanks for contributing to Google Maps.

If you expect rewards for your efforts then Local Guides isn’t the best place for you. We are all volunteers. We do what we do to help Maps Users and the community. If you get a perk then it’s a bonus, not a right.

There is no pattern, and there’s no fairness in who gets perks. It is just a marketing gimmick.

My motivation is the joy of knowing that I’m helping a lot of people and businesses. Also, making new friends here on Connect can be considered a great peek. I find it very rewarding being a Local Guide.

Hang in there, keep up the good work and maybe one day it’ll be your turn.

You can learn more about perks by reading: Questions about Local Guides perks also Why be a local guide? is worth a read.

And finally, make sure Rewards is selected in your email settings found here.

Cheers
Morten

I am also know this is not my right I’m not even talking about rights. I am also talking about reward . If I get any reward like a copy anything then . I get motivated for my hard work. I feel happy that I am working good . Instead I got this bonu. I am not aiming,I am telling you this. I’m thinking this. Till I reached here, till now I did not get any reward.

Hello @Rohitjha And Welcome to Local Guides Connect.

Let me tell you that There aren’t specific perks for each and every Level. Local Guides enjoy early access to new product features and rewards from Google partners and these awards are available worldwide or by region. There is no financial compensation from being a Local Guide as this is an at-will program that Local Guides are free to contribute to at their own leisure.

Local Guides who have opted in to receive benefit emails will be updated with any new rewards and they encourage Local Guides to check their email-settings and update/monitor their email preferences as well as their spam or promotions folder.

And one more thing, Local Guides is a voluntary program and many people participate in it because they want to be able to help others via the Google Maps platform. You can read more - “Why be a Local Guide?”

Stay tuned for more features and rewards to pop up throughout the year! :slightly_smiling_face: In the meantime, you can learn more about points, levels and rewards here.

All the best :+1:

Hi @Rohitjha

To keep Connect Organized I have merged your two post with the same content.

I see you have received already two clear and helpful answers to your question, however I would like to add a few personal notes:

  • We contribute as volunteers because we enjoy to improve Maps. An improved Maps is a mutual benefit, because everyone of us can be helped by the changes and information added by others. But I would never call this “work”, and if you think that a reward will help you to be motivated with your “Hard Work”, well, please dont be motivated.
  • What you are adding in Maps is actually a representation of most of the violations of the program rules:
    • A huge amount of redundant and low quality photos
    • Duplicates photos
    • Most of your long reviews are taken (stolen would be the right word) from the web

If you like to define this a “hard work”, I prefer to define it a fast track for a permanent removal from the Local Guides Program.

My tip for you: Read carefully the Local Guides Community policy and remove everything that is violating the guidelines.

Please do not take me wrong, as I am trying to help you, maybe not to receive a reward, but at least to avoid to be banned from the program.

Good luck
