This is my first post on local stories so I am a bit nervous!
Not a very long ago I was introduced to Google for the first time. And I was so surprised how something can become such an important part of my life?! And to top that, Google introduced Google maps a few years ago and I was impressed again! Such an innovative and useful service provided by some of the most innovative and incredible minds to us! I always wondered how does Google manage it all? All the maps , routes, reviews, recommendations !! And then finally I came across this local guides program and it has literally changed my perspective of looking at the internet.
Being a medical student by profession I have aways been very aware of giving back to society part and I love it. And Google lets me do that on the internet makes this whole thing even more special.
I get to be a part of something so big! I get to give and receive such a huge amount of information and experience! I get to practice my hobby of photography. All the information local guides put on the Google has helped me a lot and made me realize the importance of this initiative.
I know a lot of people are really good at doing this job, such as travel bloggers, but a girl living in a small town of India who has spent most of her life studying gets to be a part of something huge little by little, is a magical thing.
- Google is giving this opportunity to us to get more involved in this and I am so much excited to selected in this. I think of this as a ray of sunshine in my mundane life as a medical student
