If I take multiple photos of the same place from slightly different angles or distances, will these automatically be flagged as duplicates, even if they offer slightly different perspectives?

Does Google Maps have any plans to improve its duplicate photo detection system to better distinguish between genuinely duplicate content and photos that offer valuable, albeit similar, information? Will there be clearer communication about why a photo is considered a duplicate?

No, the will be flagged as redundant, @Ranu5g
A lot of local guides wrongly believe that repetitive contents (redundancy) is allowed in Google Maps because the photos are not technically "duplicates.
Repetitive contents are not permitted, and are also one of the reasons for the removal of a local guide from the program.
The reason is very easy to explain: repetitive contents don’t add any additional information in Google Maps, and it is considered just a trick for getting more points.
Do you want also to know where in the policies this part is mentioned?

This is a no-brainer meaning easy-to-understand @Ranu5g

Imagine you are planning to visit a place - like The National Museum in Delhi - just imagine.

Starting from Chattarpur, you decide to explore the features on Google Maps like:
Where is the parking?
Is the place accessible?
Where is the entrance?
Where is the ticket window?
Is there any tour guide available?
Is a drinking water tap available?
etc.

And instead of these photos, you see that someone has posted 20 photos of the museum building from slightly different angles.

Do you think it is useful for you?
That is the problem.
Think about others when posting photos to Google Maps.
Are your photos useful to others?
Then decide how many photos and which photos you want to post to Google Maps.

We should not give redundant same pictures from the same angle or from different angles to gain extra points

I think, we should ask @Ranu5g what he means with “flagged”. As we know, hidden photos or reviews in the EU are visibly (for us) flagged so we can see in My Contributions, if that happened.
However, talking about duplicate or redundant they may (or may not) be flagged internally by Google, but we are not aware of it. It seems to me, there is nothing we can do against beside watching and tracking carefully what we did post.
A little more than a year ago, after I first understood the issue, I started to created an inventory of posted photos and you don’t believe how many real duplicate and redundant photos I found, I was not aware of.
