We will all be celebrating the anniversary of Local Guides and Google Maps in January and February of this year. On behalf of Local Guides Bangla, I will organize a “Sherpur Geo and Photo Walk - LG10 Meet-up” in Bangladesh as part of this global celebration.

Sherpur is the smallest marginal district in the country. Sherpur was once part of the ancient kingdom of Kamarupa. The former name of this district was 'Dekahinya Baju. In 1869, the Sherpur Municipality came into existence. In 1984, the Sherpur Subdivision became a district.
We’ll visit the following iconic locations and taste food:
- Poune Tin Ani Landlord House.
- Mai Saheba Mosque
- GK Pilot High School
- Nakugaon Land Port
- Other heritage sites
- Food: Malai Chop, Gurer Sandesh, Chanar Payesh, etc
Meet-up Activities:
- Capture stunning photos of places and share them on Maps.
- Explore hidden gems and landmarks in Sherpur district.
- Improve map data through edits and additions
What to Bring:
- A smartphone or camera for taking photos. Make sure you have enough internet (mobile data).
- Comfortable walking shoes.
- Water and snacks to stay hydrated and energized.
