[In-Person] United Kingdom, April 06, ManchesterLG April 2025: Spring Blossom in the City Centre, & Meal

Join Manchester Local Guides as Spring bursts into the air on Sunday 6th April at 2:30pm starting at the Deansgate/Castlefield Metrolink Station for the short walk to the Castlefield Viaduct Visitor Centre. (More info here) for the start of exploring the pockets of Spring blossom around the city.

Manchester is a post industrial city, with what often seems the dour remnants of its heritage - but nestling in various places around the city centre are little gems of nature as Spring bursts into life. We aim to explore and photograph many of these within the inner ring road in the three hours from 2:30 - and post some of our photos on maps so that others can see the lovely locations in the future.

Sackville Gardens Spring 2024

Following this we will eat together at The Trading Route from their Sunday Roast Menu. We will meet at 5pm to eat at 5:30 if you want to join us for just this.

This event is organised by Local Guides, Manchester. We are an active group of Local Guides who try to arrange several face-to-face MeetUps during the year. Everyone is more than welcome to join us. Keep searching Manchester LG in Local Guides Connect for details of past and forthcoming events.

The Castlefield Viaduct must be a glorious place in spring! And I bet a Sunday roast after a walk is a wonderful experience, too. Hope you have a great time @PeteMHW!

Thanks @DeniGu - we will be sure to post some photos of the “wish you were here” kind. There are 63 cherry blossom trees along the length of the viaduct and it will be spectacular. Shame that Connect doesn’t yet have smell technology so yuo could smell the blossom…and the Sunday Roast!

Wonderful map @deadmanjones . I have the paper version (old fashioned technology) and I hope to follow most of the “inner circle” on Sunday ie the sites within the inner ring road, and possibly Cutting Room Square. I’m sure there will be stops for drinks on the way round!
