Introduce Yourself — April 2025

Hello and welcome to the community @CarlosCantarey. I’m with you and share your love that my visit to a place matters and I couldn’t agree with you more about the importance of providing the most objective review possible helping both Maps users make informed decisions and helping the establishment if it’s good or deserves recognition. Well done Carlos!

@RobertoGonzalezHdz, Congratulations once again on being featured in the introduction post! I have both participated in and led several heritage walks, and I find uncovering the hidden stories behind historical sites truly fascinating. It’s wonderful to know that you share the same passion! Recently, I started posting under Heritage of Her, where I explore historical places built by women. One of my posts features Heritage of Her: A Heritage Walk to Raushanara Garden, Delhi. Have you come across any historical site that was built or designed by a woman?

Thank you! It’s Nichupte lagoon in Cancún, Mexico.

Thank you Erna! :globe_showing_americas:

Haha yes, horseback archery has been my sport since I came to know it. You develop mind, body and spirit all in one. :horse::bow_and_arrow:

Could you share more details, @Yusufmolla.604? The image alone doesn’t give much context about the place or its history.

Hi @RobertoGonzalezHdz welcome to local guide connect nice to meet you,

I have never come across a historical place that was built or designed by a woman. I’d like to see that. For thousands of years, women have always been seen as second-class beings. In the Ottoman Empire, women were not counted in the census, only men and animals. For a certain period in ancient Rome, women were not even given names, but were given names such as Prima Seconda, meaning “First, Second”. Women were numbered according to their birth order. This tradition is still practiced among Arabs today. For example, Rabia means “fourth”. Vahide, Saniye, Selase, Rabia.

What a surprise! Before learning this, I was considering Rabia and Vahide as names, but today I discovered that they are actually numbers. Thanks, @Murat, for sharing these historical facts!

I also love to explore Historical Sites

Nice to meet you @RobertoGonzalezHdz
