I visited Nairobi, Kenya sometime last year and I had the opportunity to meet some sculptors and I also took a few pictures.
They work with soapstone/kisii stone.
Kisii Stone, also known as soapstone is mined in Kenya, using hammers and shovels.
I was lucky to see how people creatively carved it into beautiful art.
The pictures below show some of the beautiful art, all done by hand. From the sculpting to the painting.
