This year marks a huge milestone: 10 years of Local Guides Connect :tada: It feels like just yesterday we were all starting out, mapping our local communities, sharing tips, and making the world just a little more accessible for everyone. As we celebrate this incredible anniversary, Let’s make this celebration about giving back. Let’s step up and show the world that as Local Guides, we not only map places, we support them.

Do you get excited to see how many people found your reviews helpful? Remember the old picture you posted randomly is not the most viewed photo on map ? the helpful edit you made which helped people navigate to the right place ? The satisfaction of knowing that your efforts have helped a local business thrive is wonderful.

Let’s Make This Anniversary Matter More Than Ever! Let’s come together and support small and local businesses all around the world. They’re the heart and soul of our communities,

Here’s How You Can Make a Difference:

1. Choose Your Favourite Small Business: Think about the places you love, the local spots that make your area unique. Maybe it’s the small cafe down the street, the family-run restaurant, or the hidden gem that always makes you smile. Let’s help them shine!

2. Leave Reviews & Share Photos: It takes just a few minutes of your time to leave a review, share a photo, or even update their info on Google Maps. Those small acts make a huge impact. It’s the kind of support that brings customers in and keeps those businesses alive.

3. Meet-ups: Use #SupportSmallBusiness and encourage your friends and fellow Local Guides to get involved. Conduct meet-ups around your community, you can host a food-crawl, cafe meet-up, photowalk taking storefront photos or a map edit meet-up.

4. Share Your Story: Have you seen the difference your contributions have made to a small business? Maybe your review led to a new customer, or your photos helped a shop stand out as there were no photos or outdated photos there. Share your story! Let’s inspire others to join the movement and make a real impact.

Thank you @FalguniP for the insights to how to support small businesses. There’s local guide who doing and taking up intiatives like @AjitThite and @TusharSuradkar’s Chai Pe Charcha. Taking up intiatives is also one of great way to support and effective in our community.

@FalguniP I really appreciate this initiative! Small businesses add so much character to our communities, and it’s great to see a push for supporting them. I already have a few in mind that deserve recognition, and I’ll be sharing them soon. Looking forward to seeing what others post as well!

@Rahul001 Thanks for sharing. Supporting small businesses has been my favourite thing to do and have created multiple initiatives for the same, This year to mark the 10th year I wish all of us can come together and celebrate businesses around us :slight_smile:
