Living in Doha is an extraordinary experience, especially for those of us who come from the other side of the world map. Everything is so different… food, clothing, weather, transports, architecture … And sometimes for Spanish speaking, can be a little bit overwhelming.
When I arrived here my English was a bit rusty and obviously, I do not speak Arabic. The information that we can find in Spanish is almost nil. For that, I decided to use Local Guide as a tool for the people in my situation. So I started to make reviews of the sites I visited but in Spanish.
In Doha, places to eat and to drink a coffee are everywhere. Although the relation quality/price is something to take into account because Doha is not an economic city and sometimes, when you miss information, you can pay more.
As a good coffee latte drinker, __I decided to find the best places to drin__k one and for a good price.
Java u Café: with this place joins me something personal, during the first days in the city and without knowing anyone, the employees of this place gave me a warm welcome to Doha. The second time I went, they say “hi” with some words in Spanish, just to make me feel welcome.
This brand was established in Montreal in 1996 and moved to Qatar to build a community here as well. In addition, the environment is perfect for who work outside the office´s or for small business meetings.
Flat White Specialty Coffee: this place shows me the passion for good coffee, the cups are not huge and it is not a cheap coffee, but it’s good to the last drop. One of the first artisan coffee shops in the city offers coffee of different types. The owners are Qataris, they try and bring the best coffee beans in different parts of the world. Ah! and for them, the best cup of coffee is enjoyed without sugar.
PAUL Bakery & Restaurant: in this case, we speak of a bakery, more than a cafeteria, but where you find a good bread there find a good cup of coffee. All their products are very fresh and for a reasonable price. In the city, there are several places, it’s not difficult to find one PAUL. A brand’s from France that found a good place in the Middle East has branches in Oman, Egypt, Jordan, UAE, Kuwait, among others.
The Eden Coffee: in this case, it’s a specialized coffee shop. The coffee beans they offer comes from places like Brazil, Colombia, Panama, and Ethiopia. The atmosphere in this place is very very nice and modern, at the same time, the brand knows how to use social networks very well. The cup of coffee is not more economical than in other places, but it’s worth it.
According to the International Coffee Organization, it’s estimated that more than 2 billion cups of coffee are drunk all over the world every day. A good cup of coffee depends on many factors but surely the quality of the grain, your price and the environment in which it is offered, may be determined the choice.
