I am making simple edits, but all of them getting rejected immediately, without review. The type of edits does not matter, all of them get rejected, even simple phone number additions.
Please provide some more details @LONGMAN . Did getting edits approved work for you in the past, and did it change to immediate rejection recently? Or are these your first attempts to make edits?
Do you know other local guides in the area that are able to make edits? (In some regions making edits is simply blocked overall by Google)
@JanVanHaver Well, I have many edits and contributions since 2010. In 2022 I (probably) broke commenting rules and was temporarily removed from local guides. In 2023 I appealed and my local guide status was restored. But looks like editing is still locked for me. What can I do to fix this?
Thank you for contacting Google support. We can’t approve your appeal as your edits violate our Maps User Content policies.
This removal is permanent. It will not affect other services associated with your Google account, however, you are no longer able to participate in the Local Guides program and receive related benefits.
If you have any further questions please consult the Local Guides Help Center.
Thanks,
Google support
This answer looks pretty strange, I am already participating in the Local Guides program. I think this answer is also generated automatically, and their algorithm does not know that my account was restored.
Guys, what can I do next? I really want to make my local maps better and I am not able to do so
And you are obviously not suspended on this account. Also, suspended LG can not post and reply here on Connect.
Having two LG accounts is another violation that can get you suspended.
So I guess you have a second account or asked for help on behalf of a friend.
The reply you got is not good news. When edits are what caused a suspension you don’t have a chance to correct or delete those contributions as is the case for photos and reviews.
I remember several cases where LGs got unsuspended after fixing their reviews and photos. But not when edits were the problem.
So I’m out of tips on how to solve this.
You could check your edits in your mail system and read the guidelines carefully, but this is unlikely to get the account unsuspended. And keep in mind the suspension is on the person not the account.
The reply you shared is normally related to being suspended. Maybe they created a new sanction related to edits only.
In my experience the replies to the appeals form are standard replies, but I don’t think they are created without human intervention. The approval of edits are 100% automatic.
Let me tag @DeniGu for more/better help than I can provide.
@MortenCopenhagen I see now (sometimes it is useful to carefully scroll through all replies ).
Tagging a Google moderator, as you already did, would also have been my suggestion, as it requires access to the backend to figure out what’s going on.
As @MortenCopenhagen said, the responses from the Appeals team are standardized but never automatic. This means that your account was reviewed and an issue was observed with your edits. However, the rest of the message does seem misaligned, so I will share this as feedback with the team.
While we’re not able to help with your edits, it’s good to keep in mind that some edits may be more challenging to make for a variety of reasons. Such edits can include changing a phone number (which you mentioned you tried to do) and adding facilities that are part of larger verified businesses, such as the ice rink you tried to add in your video, which appears to be part of the larger Crystal Hotel & Spa.
