Sure @TorM this parade is every year through Christmas it has two events another in New years morning Its our number one culture event with hand made arts n craft work with music from goat skin drums. horns and cow bells the music is rocking need to visit !

May I ask : Bahamas was occupied by many European Countries in the past (I hope I remember good… ). Is this a tradition the Europeans brought to the country or is this something from the original culture before colonialization?
Yes @TorM it was actually bought here by the late Africans who the Europeans bought here but it continues as a tradition here started from scrap paper and now beautiful costumes hand made

@KatyaL the junkanoo parade is fun it’s a good feeling to see all the creativity come out and display their artwork in music and dancing lovely event I must say
Also @TorM more of the history to be quite frank actually junkanoo came from an African chief name John canoe originated from his tribal dance . As tradition goes they use scrap material and made fascinating costumes until to this day !
