I have recently not been receiving any points for my photo captions. Has something changed?

Unfortunately captions and captions are two different things:
- You can enter captions to your photos by watching My Contributions → Photos on your mobile Google Maps app. In this case, you do not get any points.
- You can only earn points by opening a place listing (restaurant, shop …) on the mobile app, click on the Updates tab, open By visitors, upload a photo and add a caption at the same time. Be careful, not upload the a photo which you posted before using a different way - this would create a duplicate which is against the rules. Note, the screen shot in @AbdullahAM comment says “Caption (In photo update) - 10 points per caption”. This does not mean “updating” a previously uploaded photo

Thanks for the response. So just to confirm, in order to get points for a caption, I need to upload it using the mobile web and NOT the Google maps app?
No @Jreckles, not through the Web Browser, but in the mobile App by opening the place and adding “Updates” “By visitors”.
The titles are of course different depending on your language. E.g. in German it says “Neuigkeiten” instead of “Updates”. That’s why I falsely wrote “News” before.
Ok. Can I add them in updates and then add the same photos in my review? Obviously I wouldn’t expect double points, but I also don’t want Google to think I’m being duplicative.
NO! This would create duplicates, which are against the rules.
