Fansipan Peak is the highest mountain in Hoang Lien Son range, located in Sapa, Lao Cai province, Vietnam. The azalea trees grow most variable from nearly 2,000 meters high to Fansipan peak 3,143m.
Due to the year-round climate with cloud cover is the condition for this flower to bloom best. Among them, there are many old azalea trees, 300, 400 years old, cherished and preserved.
Fascinating photos, @DoanNT ! I can only imagine how beautiful the hike was up to those azalea trees.
Do you have a close up photo of the blooming flowers? The red colour is so intense and eye-catching, especially when hiding among the lush greenery around.
These azalea trees grow on almost vertical cliffs. On the top of this Fanssipan, they built a tourist area and had terraced walkways with a slope of 45 degrees, when going up and down the stairs like this were very tired โฆ
There are trees hundreds of meters away so I have to use a telephoto lens to capture, there are also trees about ten meters away, I have to pull myself out to take shots while the wind is blowing very strong โฆ These positions are at high altitudes 3,100m.
It is also necessary to choose when there is good sunlight and there are no clouds or mist flying across the landscape. Fortunately, they are in the flowering season.
I was going to ask from where you took your photos as from your photos Fanssipan Peak looks very inaccessible but you answered that @DoanNT in reply to @DeniGu . Looks like an interesting place to hike to.
