I am always excited sighting waterfalls and have visited some in Nigeria namely Gurara Waterfalls in Niger State, Olumirin Waterfalls in Osun State, and Ogbaukwu Waterfalls in Anambra. But hiking to Owu waterfalls deep into the forest on 14th October 2023 was a different experience regarding the distance I trekked to get to the location because the access road is not motorable. Also, the height of the falls was the highest I have ever seen. Towering about 330 feet, reputed to be the highest in West Africa and exists in the midst of stretching mountains covered by green vegetation. Climbing the hill to see the waterfall was exhausting but it was worth it. A cool, quiet, beautiful scene depicting nature at its best with marble stones littered all over the place.
