Photo Upload Limit now on Google Maps?

I just wanted to add a bunch of photos of a place i took and edited and now I have to do it in 10 image increments? Why? I haven’t tried it but seems like, I can keep uploading 10 images at a time and then again and again? Did any license of Google expire and now we are all forced to the 10 image limit or what is going on? Makes no sense at all

Hi @38160210003

This is interesting. And a good change if your ask me.

From your screenshot, I guess you are on a desktop or laptop computer. If possible, please test if the same limit is there when your Android or apple phone.

Cheers

I don’t upload with my phone. I want to upload high-quality pictures and if they want me to force me to move my pictures first to my phone, then this is the worst change ever.

And no, it is not a good change. Especially as you still can do unlimited and just make my valuable time, I give for free to Google even more wasted.

Any official update or is it top secret again?

I suggested you to test if the limit is also enforced on mobile devices. I did not suggest you change you workflow.

So far this limit has been reported only by you.

It would be very helpful if you would use the tagging tool when replying to someone here on Connect. Type @ followed by the username. Type slowly. Then we get an e-mail notification and you are more likely to get a prompt reply. Just hitting Reply does not ensure we get notified by email.

From experience it is very unlikely that Google will comment on this until the test is over and a decision is made to roll this out to all users.

May I suggest that also send in-product feedback to the team on how you perceive this.

Use these Steps to send feedback.

All the best

Limiting image upload is a good thing, uploading too many photos is just spam @38160210003

Looking at your profile, I suggest you go clean it before the AI does. There are

  • Same images uploaded to multiple places
  • Duplicate/Near duplicate images uploaded to a place

Why is uploading too much spam? lol, google wants the free contributions from us. There are so many pictures of places that have nothing to do with the place at all. More than happy that AI cleans my profile, at this point, I don’t really care. And by the way, there is no AI at Google just AS. I wrote a detailed review of a restaurant, with pictures attached and everything. The review never got published, but I also don’t get a notification that it didn’t get published and It also won’t let me publish it because it is probably too detailed, or too accurate…That’s what Google doesn’t like apparently :disappointed:

I too am capped to 10 images. Quality content providers, giving Google, for free, the material this foundation is built on will deter some people to using this functionality. This is a hassle. With 200 hundred images to upload a month, it is unlikely I will continue to provide this data.

Exactly my point, but everyone here considers us just as spammers. Well right now, I am uploading unedited crappy smartphone pics. That’s what Google wants I guess. I don’t mind that people upload from their phone. For some it’s the only camera they have. It’s again quantity over quality.

Also it doesn’t stop spammers, as you can do as much as you want 10 batch uploads or transfer it to the phone and upload. It only is a hassle for people who have a life and job besides this and want to contribute in their spare time.

Same here. I thought it is just a temporary thing or some sort of glitch. Dealing with it day by day is frustrating.
