Planning Exciting Local Guides Meetups!

For the past few days, my husband, @PavelSarwar, and I have been thinking about organizing a Local Guides meetup in Kuala Lumpur.

However, deciding on a date and location has been challenging, as gathering everyone for an in-person meetup is difficult. Still, we thought that even if just five or six people could join, we should go ahead and plan something.

With that in mind, Pavel and I spent some time exploring MyTown Shopping Mall before heading to Elite Restaurant, a Bangladeshi restaurant in Bukit Bintang. There, we met a few fellow Bangladeshis—one visiting from Canada and another from France. Our friend @ZarjisIslam was also with us. Together, we enjoyed a delightful Bangladeshi meal featuring beef curry, hilsa fish, two types of shrimp dishes with vegetables, lentils, fried eggplant, plain rice, and, to end on a sweet note, a fruit platter followed by milk tea.

After our meal, we started discussing plans for a Local Guides meetup. After much discussion, Pavel planning to host an in-person meetup on February 26, aligning it with International Mother Language Day, and invited me to co-host the event. I will be the host the next day, February 27nd, and I invited Pavel as my co-host for another in-person meetup to celebrate Boshonto Utsob (Spring Festival).

As a couple, we have always loved contributing to Google Maps and Connect. It reminded us of our previous tagline—Meet the couple that guides together.” We want to embrace this identity once again!
Exploring new places, discovering food and culture, and enhancing the accessibility of Google Maps and Local Guides Connect are things we are genuinely passionate about. We look forward to making these meetups meaningful and enjoyable for everyone.

Since we visited MyTown Shopping Mall today, I also took the opportunity to review several stores and contribute to Google Maps—something I truly love doing.
Now it’s midnight in Malaysia, and in the morning, we’ll create a meetup poster and link.
Wish us all the best!

@SumaiyaZafrin Wow! Exciting!

I read with keen interest till the very end and it was worth the read. Your meet-up planning itself seem like a meet up already.
Wow so many yumminess everywhere on your post, I was almost drooling.

I wish you both all the best in your meetups, hoping to read the recap. Note that you may not be able to post the meetup in the meet-up section because the meet-up should have been posted 5 days in advance, however you can still go ahead with your meet-up as planned.
