My wife and I enjoyed a leisurely walk around the Porto Arabia, The Pearl Qatar Marina. The Pearl Qatar is an artificial island about 10 kms north of the city centre of Doha.
The marina is home to hundreds of boats and yachts. The marina is surrounded in apartment buildings, shopping malls, arcades, restaurants and cafes, and so much more.
It is nice to enjoy when it is quiet, which is before 2pm most days. The Middle East culture are very nocturnal so most places like this come alive after 2pm until after midnight. The reason why the culture are more evening and night people is because during the hot months, it is too unpleasant to do too much outside. Night time is always much more pleasant. Currently the climate is very pleasant and although it is regarded as winter, daytime temperature is around 30 degrees C (86 F).
Thank you for sharing @TheEagleEye . This place looks great and I would like to go there one day. As I can see from the Google Maps photos of Porto Arabia, this is a perfect destination for spending your free time.

The Middle East is a wonderful place, despite what some people (politicians) may think (know what I mean). The people are very nice and kind. The Pearl Qatar has a large expat community.
I have never been to Qatar,@TheEagleEye and I am sure that I will like the city. I have seen only the airport, because of my transfer from there. So one day will go there for a vacation.
