Hi everyone we are rolling out with recaps now it is my turn…so here I am…
What is accessibility?
any content or functionality that is fully available to and usable by people with disabilities
Time spent with friends and our team is always unforgettable. The same is with all of us whenever we meet during the event it always becomes our lifetime memories still we talk about our first in-person meet-up at blind school.
All the detailed recap you can find in @NareshDarji recap post and @TravellerG post we had a lot of fun during this Ahmedabad meet-up.thank you to @NareshDarji for hosting this event and @TEJALJANI for helping us with all arrangements. Special thanks to @TravellerG sir for the T-Shirt initiative it great different impression and visitors in science city are looking at us eagerly.
As you all know I am keen to update information on the maps regarding accessibility, public toilet and safety topics.
I started the journey early morning with @RoshanPatel and @Kinjalchhaya by train and reached Ahmedabad station by 10.30 am and start taking photos of the ramp on the station and uploaded them on the maps as well.
The Ahmedabad Railway station is an accessible place you will get a ramp, lift, and wheelchair free of cost so any passenger with a physical disability can travel from here now the government is taking special care about accessibility features. As mentioned by @Kinjalchhaya there is seat no mention everywhere in the brail language on the train.
In Science city also special parking space for accessibility person was available. My visit of two days and the subsequent updates on google maps related to my accessibility updates clear everything. Sabarmati Ashram wheelchair is available free of cost and the same is updated on maps also Hutheesing Jain Temple, Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kalupur , and Sidi Saiyyed Mosque and Bai Harir Vav ( Stepwell ) this was not accessible but it was on the ground floor so a person with the physical problem can just observe but vav means step well so it was for bathing in ancient time. but the rest all are accessible all accessible by accessibility persons and they can go and have a visit. Wheelchairs are also easily available with ramp facilities. All the places have historical importance.
