I thought dong some meaningful thing in year-end Christmas vacation and then I have hosted a Christmas Photo Walk. I chose the K-Zone shopping mall, because not only more Christians live in Ja-Ela area but also it is easily accessible for me as well. Also I hoped to get to know each other regional Local Guides.
As I planned by 12 noon on the 25th, I arraived to the meetup location with my freiend @ravindus. Another local guide, Yumal, also joined with us for the meetup. @Rumal95and few other local guides were commited to come but they couldn’t make it.
So the three of us decided to start the photo walk. For Christmas, the K-Zone was decorated with special arrangements. After we entered the main door, we spent some time near the huge Christmas tree in the lobby. We first got to know each other. Then we shared our thoughts and experiences with each other and discussed each other’s contributions and levels on google map.
Then we started walk through the mall. Many shops had their Christmas arrangements and decorations. We were able to shoot nice shots of each of them.
But we noticed that walking with DSLR/ Go-pro/ 360 camera was grabbed attention of everyone including security. They might thought we were doing some commercial shooting and one security guards came to us and questioned us. He told that photo taking in public areas and taking pictures with mobile devices is allowed and need to take prior permission from the management for any other photography.
We walked to the food stall area on the first floor but only one fruit juice shop was open. All other food stalls were closed because of Christmas. We were hungry and went out to find a restaurant for lunch. We had our lunch at Letona Café close by. While having our lunch we didn’t forget to review the place.
After lunch again we came back to mall and continued walking and taking photos. We could take some nice 360 photos inside of the mall.
Around 5pm we came back to the main lobby where the big Christmas tree was. We took a nice selfie of us and ended our meet up.
