[Recap] Let's Clean The Clifton Beach Karachi

"When I started to think about this project, in the first days of January, I would never have imagined this moment.
I was walking on the beach, I just wanted to photograph the sunset, when a large patch of colored plastic presented itself to the view. The first thought (being a Local Guide) was to organize a meetup to clean the beach.
Yes, I still calling this “a project”, because it is my vision of the Idea: a project, for building up a better world. Half million of people, in this community, a lot of little drops to fill the sea.
To make this idea become true is our target."
( @ErmesT Toun)

Hello local guides, here I m sharing a great experience of a wonderful Let’s Clean The Clifton Beach Meetup, which was not only a Meetup, but we all learned alot practically.

#CleanTheWorld is a local guide project which was started by Mr. @ErmesT Toun and now many of local guides like @IlankovanT , @DavidTito , and many super stars of local guides Family are running this great campaign in thier countries all over the world.

A Beautiful Gift :
I didn’t expect such a beautiful gift for A Knowledge sharing meetup. During my knowledge sharing meetup at Pakistan American cultural center, during my speech on Clean the world project, teacher suggest a initiative of Clean the beach meetup, because she want to explain her students practically about the importance of clean beaches and oceans. And they requested me to lead the meetup as they already know about me and my activities in Pakistan as a local guide .

Journey For A Cause :

So we decided to gather on 27th June 2019 on Thursday morning at PACC Gulshan Campus, and then we started our journey for Clifton Beach in four cars, because there were many students which we didn’t expect that we can gather around fifteen people in short notice.

After an hour drive, We reached at Clifton Beach at gathering point, and find so many people there on week day, even there was no holiday. And it was too much Hot day, and it was almost 36° . But Students were excited and enthusiastic for Thier activity, because it was very first time that they were visiting beach for a cause.

We started our meetup with short introduction of clean the world project, and for our help, @DavidTito was on Live Video call with us, he talked about the importance of clean beaches and oceans, and by his appearance and motivation students there were feeling Happy and more excited. But as I said, it was extreme hot weather on that day, we forgot many things to shoot on camera . Specially my Daughter & Junior Local Guide Ayesha introduce herself and other students to my friend David Tito
it was the best way to convey the messages of Local Guides , as we were representing the whole community of local guides at Clifton Beach Karachi.

As we arranged trash Bags and Gloves from city so Every person in this meetop got bag for wastage collection.

During collection of Wastage Ma’am Sumera and me were explained about 3 R’s Reduce, Reuse and Recycling , and about worst impacts of plastics pollution on Marine life as well. And also asked questions to all students, "who throws this Garbage and plastic waste at beaches and in the sea ? The answer from student was obvious that Surely it was thrown by a human like you and me.
That was the point when we explained the sensitivity of the issue that what we are throwing in the sea, it’s return back to us in the form of the food to us. And how much it is harmful for our Marine life and for us also, if we can understand, than we never throw any wastage in our oceans.

The Meetup ends with 10 full bags of trash contains plastic Bottles , wrappers and shopping bags, our big black bags for collecting wastage, which was full in the end of cleaning the beach, we tried to collect wastage around one kilometer of that area, and by the time we picked all of the plastic bottles and other every waste material from there and handover it to Solid waste management of Karachi Metropolitan Authority.

Awareness:
After Knowledge Sharing Meetup we got the beautiful Gift of this initiative of a Motivational beach cleaning meetup, but after beach cleaning initiative we got another one, that was awareness and the feelings that they feel one very noteable thing in everyone there, that it was something which was coming from their inside, and came to their faces in the form of smile and happiness, even I mentioned above that it was too much hot day on 27th June in Karachi , but it was kind of satisfaction or what? may be it was happiness or joy that they did a small effort from thier side for our planet, and this was our first time, but after this meetup, they all were agreed to continue thier efforts for betterment of our beautiful planet in the future.

Dear @KashifMisidia , Great job done by you. Such pragmatic steps not only help clean the city, country and world gradually but also help in create awareness among the masses how to keep their place and world clean and healthy.

When we make people habitual of such good habits, it works for generations and generations as they too become habitual of keeping their places whether home, town, state, country or world clean and spread such wonderful habits wherever they go and practice.

Always expect more such wonderful and fruitful Connects from you, which help the community think, rebuild and be the best. Keep on flourishing with beautiful thoughts, keep on sharing and stay blessed.

Sir @KashifMisidia I’m very sorry that I wasn’t there with you in this great initiative because when “LOCAL GUIDES CLEAN THE WORLD Initiative” had started i also wrote an article about it https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t5/General-Discussion/PLASTIC-THE-SILENT-KILLER/m-p/1249375#M266655 but because of my studies I don’t have enough time to participate in any meet-up, so, like a lot other local guides you’ve got my support. You are the greatest person right now for me because I think your thoughts are also similar to my thoughts.

I’m not saying the next couple of lines as an escape that i honestly don’t use any single use plastic as I can I don’t eat any snacks because of that and i also try my best to spread that knowledge among others, sometimes people make fun of me but I think that "THIS MOCKERY DOS NOT COST MORE THAN THE EFFECTS OF THE SINGLE USE PLASTIC"so I keep doing that.

Lastly it’s my request to you that if you have some work that I can do like online awareness talks I will be more than ready for it, because i think that it is something that I can do with my classes or if you have any advice for me then I’m here.
