When places have photos on Google Maps of what they look like from the outside it helps those who are going there for the first time to locate them easily.
Here’s the storefront photo of Cafe 21 on Sus Road in Pune that shows
a. The accessible entrance,
b. Menu,
c. Seating, and ambiance,
d. Along with decorations made on the ceiling,
e. The trash bin and the carpet and surrounding trees outside
f. Pedal-operated sanitizer dispenser,
g. Serving timings,
h. An important message saying ‘life is endlessly delicious*’*,
- all in a single frame.
Why was the storefront photo taken from a corner view?
Last month my top viewed photo on Google Maps that was featured for a business in Delhi was abruptly removed and a much older photo is now used.
I noticed that the current photo is a corner view whereas the one uploaded by me was a front-facing photo of the shop. I concluded that corner photos are preferred. As a result, I tried to capture as many corner views of businesses on the East Sus Road in Pune during my meetup on Tuesday 27-August-2021

Here’s the banner photo of the meetup:
I captured photos that clearly showed the entrance, the name and details of the shop, and the width of the pavement around it among other details.
Here are a few storefront photos of businesses on East Sus Road in Pune.
1. Mahalaxmi Electrical Sales and Service
The storefront shows some parking space and several goods that are on sale overflowing from the shop.
It also mentioned that spare parts are available, displays the phone number, and indicates that the place is not accessible.
2. Durga Cafe
This storefront shows the main menu which is the large coffee mug along with the flex board that lists the menu with a few pictures of the food items.
Also, it shows the little parking space and that parcel service is available.
3. Deepkala Fashion
This storefront shows a few sample readymade dresses and several manikins.
It also mentions that kids’ and ladies’ wear are available.
4. Krishna Medicare and Aanandi Foods
This storefront of several small businesses shows that accessibility is limited to handrails and no ramps are available.
The medical store displays what type of medicines are available.
The storefront also shows that a 2-wheeler parking space is available.
5. Hotel Khandesh
This storefront shows that outdoor seating is available.
The place is accessible via a leveled flooring.
Another view of the storefront also mentions that the parcel or pickup facility is available.
It also displays the various dishes with the prices along with the phone numbers to order food.
The storefront also shows that there is a tactile path for the visually impaired and that the entrance is accessible for a wheelchair-bound person.
Conclusion
I am sure such storefront photos will help Googe Maps users a lot when locating the shop easily especially when they are located amidst a crowd of other shops on East Sus road which has evolved from a humble walkway to an extra-wide and superrich shopping street over the centuries.
